Sa pahayag ni Senator Marcoleta na ‘insulto’ sa kanya ang mungkahi na bumuo ng isang Independent Commission:

Una sa lahat, mali-mali ang impormasyon ni Sen Marcoleta. Hindi ako ang nagmungkahi ng Independent Commission at panukalang SB 1215 ito ni Sen Sotto. Kulang siya sa research.

Pangalawa, hindi natin siya pinipigilan mag imbestiga at hindi nya rin tayo puedeng pigilan suportahan ang panukalang batas ni Sen Sotto na bumuo nga ng independent investigative commission para imbestigahan ang corruption sa flood control projects. Sa Senado baka hindi pa nya alam ay malayang maaring magmungkahi ang mga Senador ng mga panukalang batas at malayang manawagan ng suporta sa mga nasabing mga panukalang batas ang bawat isa sa amin. Hindi ito pangiinsulto. Trabaho namin ito.

Sa halip na ma insulto si Sen Marcoleta sa panukala ni Sen Sotto at pagsuporta ko dito ay galingan na lang nya ang pagiimbestiga nya at patunayan ang husay nya bilang bagong chairman ng Blue Ribbon committee.

Matagal na ako sa Senado at alam ng lahat sa Senado na wala akong oras na makipag personalan sa trabaho. Solusyon at pananagutan sa problema ng matinding kurakot sa flood control projects ang hinahanap ng taumbayan.

Walang personalan sa Senado, trabaho lang.
