@MichaelAArouet I'm from Portugal. Here, for Social Security (the institution that pays your pension) the worker pays 11%, the employer pays another 23% on top of the workers salary (around 33% total), and for someone entering the marketplace now the pension will be 40% of their salary.
@QueenMab87 AI is good for automation and generation of content. Depending on your area it can be a great productivity boost. For example as a developer I find that it is much faster to direct an AI agent to produce code and then validate it, then to write the code myself.
@SHL0MS I know that's a real Monet, but I'll still answer: it's that Monet is unique, he made a very limited number of paintings and he was innovative. A Monet is not just a painting, it's a piece of history of human creativity. Prompting AI to copy Monet has none of those qualities
I've found a solution to Portugal politics: lets copy Denmark. Left-wing pundits give Denmark as an example of successful socialist policies and right-wing pundits give it as an example of successful liberal policies. So both sides agree: lets do it like Denmark!
@StuartHameroff when you say "the warmth feels good", how do we know it's not just a mechanical reaction that the plant developed in order to survive through evolution? How do we know there is feeling? Thanks
you cannot end world poverty by distributing money, governments have already tried that and it just results in higher prices. To end poverty you need to produce more, which drives prices down and allows people to actually have more goods and services
Itβs not weird to yβall that not a single billionaire wants to end world poverty? Not even one rich person?
Itβs just βwhat they do with their money is up to themβ?
Yeah, sure- but itβs not WEIRD to you that not ONE single person wants to be a big hero and solve the worldβs problems when they LITERALLY could?
Thatβs not bizarre or suspicious?
