Earlier today, Save the Children Kenya officially kicked off its #DriveToArrive Road Safety Campaign with a hybrid road safety sensitization session for staff across our offices.
The session was facilitated by Samuel Musumba, Assistant Director, Road Safety Programme at the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), alongside representatives from the National Police Service – Traffic Division and the Deputy OCS, Kileleshwa Police Station. Together, they shared practical insights on road safety, defensive driving, and the shared responsibility we all have in preventing road crashes and protecting lives.
As part of the launch, staff also signed the 2026 Road Safety Commitment, reaffirming our collective pledge to make safer choices on and off the road. Every journey matters, and every safe arrival makes a difference.
Together, let's drive responsibly, stay patient, and look out for one another on the road. Because the destination only matters if you arrive safely.

Kenya is opening new pathways toward recognizing and integrating refugee teachers into the national education system. Through the #TeachWellVoices Project, policy discussions have evolved into practical action, bringing together the @EduMinKenya, Teachers Service Commission (TSC Kenya), County Education Boards, @UNHCRgov, and education partners to explore solutions that strengthen both refugee and host community education.
From teacher recognition and skills validation to micro-credentialing and the registration of refugee schools, these reforms represent meaningful steps toward an inclusive education system where qualified refugee teachers can contribute their expertise and help address teacher shortages.
When refugee teachers are recognized, children gain greater access to quality learning, communities become more resilient, and education systems grow stronger for everyone.
Advancing refugee teacher inclusion is not just about expanding opportunity—it's about building a more inclusive, equitable, and resilient education system for Kenya.

@SaveChildren_KE is on the ground supporting the hard-hit Mandera West Sub-County, where families are struggling with severe water shortages following prolonged dry spells in October 2025.
With backing from the Humanitarian Fund (HF) and in close collaboration with the Mandera County Government, we have launched emergency water trucking to ensure drought-affected households have access to safe, clean water.
Let's join hands towards ensuring no family is left without water.

@SaveChildren_KE, through the UKAM-ACCEPT Project, supported the @Mandera_cgvt, @Ncpwds, and the @klrcKE in hosting a two-day forum to disseminate the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025, and sensitize stakeholders on social protection.
The forum strengthened understanding of disability rights and inclusive policies.
Meanwhile, the Mandera County Social Protection Bill, which embeds strong disability inclusion measures, is under County Assembly review, a major step toward equity and protection for persons with disabilities.
Child participation isn’t just a principle; it’s the heartbeat of our programming.
During their recent visit to our @SaveChildren_KE Country Office, the delegation from @SavetheChildren, led by Chief Impact Officer Betsy Zorio, had the privilege of listening directly to children as they shared their experiences, aspirations, and ideas for building a better future.
These conversations remind us why we do what we do: every program, every decision, and every response must reflect the voices of those who matter most, the children.
This is part of our collective effort to build a world where children are not only seen and heard but are actively shaping the solutions that affect their lives.

This milestone was made possible through the support of @SaveChildren_KE under the UKAM–ACCEPT Project, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen advocacy for nutrition interventions at the county level.
Thanks to @Concern and @RACIDA for their valuable collaboration in the process.

Other priorities discussed were alternative family care and capacity building for teachers and social workers to better support vulnerable children. Save the Children is committed to working closely with the State Department to uphold children’s rights and improve their lives.
Child-friendly reporting is rooted in accuracy and sensitivity—sharing the truth while considering the emotional impact on children. It means protecting their identities, upholding their dignity, and most importantly, empowering them to tell their own stories.
