🚨BREAKING: Dearborn’s mayor is being sued in federal court after the city spent thousands of taxpayer dollars on Ramadan displays — then stonewalled a Christian resident who asked for Easter and Passover too.

Journalist Margot Cleveland filed the suit with the American Freedom Law Center. FOIA records show about $1,500 on “Ramadan Kareem” banners and $5,000 on a crescent-moon display. Police sold Ramadan shirts with the department logo.

She did not ask the city to cancel Ramadan. She asked for equal treatment. The city expanded the Muslim displays instead.

The lawsuit also cites Mayor Abdullah Hammoud telling a Christian pastor at a City Council meeting: “You are not welcome here.”

🚨 GAZA PHOTOGRAPHER ADMITS HE WITHHELD OCT. 7 FOOTAGE

Prominent Palestinian photographer Motaz Azaiza says he filmed Israeli hostages being abused by crowds on Oct. 7, but deliberately did not publish the footage because he feared Israel could use it to identify and target those involved.

He also delivered unusually harsh criticism of Hamas:
• “Show me one Palestinian in Gaza who was protected by Hamas’s weapons. No one.”

• He says Hamas had a chance by Oct. 11, 2023 to accept a deal involving disarmament that could have prevented massive destruction and loss of life.

• He describes a Hamas-run WhatsApp mechanism used to intimidate journalists, circulate their personal details, and coordinate attacks against anyone who crossed the organization.

• Gaza photographers, he says, learned to lower their cameras whenever civilians criticized Hamas because publishing such footage could make them targets.

Azaiza was named to TIME’s 100 most influential people and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I have written eleven opinion pieces for The New York Times across 35 years. I still read it. I write what follows with no joy: while I have watched it become increasingly partisan in its news coverage over the decades, no topic has made its loss of balance clearer to me than its handling of Israel since October 7.

This week the Times published a sentence suggesting that Israeli victimhood over the 2023 Hamas terror attack was not a fact, but a "matter of perception." It only added an Editors' Note after furious backlash, much of it here on X. I have written corrections myself. A sentence like that doesn't slip past a reporter, an editor, and a copy desk by accident. The underlying problem is that it did not set off an alarm until readers outside the building made noise.

And that was simply the latest example. In May, the paper's Opinion section ran a column alleging Israeli forces used dogs to rape Palestinian detainees, built on sourcing no other serious outlet had corroborated. The Times's own executive editor later said the newsroom "wouldn't have done that exact piece."

Now there's data behind the pattern. A peer-reviewed Yale study of 1,559 Times articles on the war found the word "Israel" appeared more than three times as often as "Hamas," and that 1,423 of those articles mentioned neither Israeli casualties after Oct. 7 nor Hamas combatants killed in the war.

"Paper of record" was never a hereditary title. It was a claim about earned trust. I am not sure anyone still believes it.

We are days away from Yom Kippur.  And now is the time to say what's on my mind about the Jewish members of Congress, especially the Senate, who have endorsed and are even campaigning for El-Sayed.  You are a disgrace.  You give cover to Jew-hatred and the spreading cancer of antisemitism in your party and in our country.  You put your party and your own political interests ahead of what is moral and right.  You're absolutely shameful and, to me, disgusting.  And for your leader, Chuck Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish official in the Senate, to give $10 million to the El-Sayed campaign and, before that, to support Platner in Maine despite his contemptible background (abandoning him only after he was accused of rape), is unconscionable and reprehensible. Oh, and if you want to ask me about Tucker Carlson, please do, and I will detail the lengths to which I have condemned that lowlife when others in mass media would not.  Of course, today, he is roundly despised, as he should be.  And I am proud to say that Republicans have, in fact, rallied against the Jew-haters and their ilk.  Yes, there are cancerous elements within our ranks, but they are pariahs.  Not so in the Democrat Party.  And President Trump has spoken often against Jew-hatred and has done more than any president to confront it, including with the Justice Department, Education Department, other departments, and through litigation and executive orders.

That is not a press conference. That is a house in Israel. The boy came home from the army that is supposed, in the Western script, to exist only to crush people who look like him.

Apartheid was a legal system that told a man where he could live, whom he could marry, and which door he could use. It did not send him to the front and then throw a party when he made it back to his mother’s arms.

If the libel were true, this room would not exist. The mother would not be proud. The neighbors would not be filming. The state would not have handed him the rifle and the rank and then driven him back to this tile floor.

Watch it once without the slogan in your head. The slogan is what cannot survive the hug.
