Finally, I would like to thank again Dr Jasmin Dall'Agnola for providing me with an opportunity to reflect on my journey balancing academic research with motherhood in her edited volume Researching in the Former Soviet Union. Stories from the Field. Next stop: summer graduation!
After (over) six years, my PhD journey at the University of Nottingham has finally reached its finish line. And it feels rather surreal to write that. This period has been a significant chapter of my life, not just in academic career terms but also in personal ones (1/4).
I am incredibly grateful to my examiners, Dr Anaïs Marin (United Nations) and Dr Carl Gibson (University of Nottingham), and to my supervisors, Professor Bettina Renz and Dr Natalie Martin, for their time, constructive feedback, and guidance throughout this process (3/4).
Alongside research, writing, and revisions, I also became a mother to two wonderful daughters. Balancing academic work with early motherhood fundamentally reshaped my understanding of time, priorities, and perseverance, and made this achievement feel even more meaningful(2/4).
Just had the worst customer experience when trying to cancel my booking @bookingcom The customer service assistant was patronising and I dare say vile! I was genuinely concerned that the property I booked could have been a #scam but instead of assistance all I got was attitude.
I had the pleasure to review “Unequal under Socialism. Race, Women, and Transnationalism in #Bulgaria” by Miglena S. Todorova for @hsozkult . A splendid read for those studying #socialism, #post-socialism , #gender , #race, #intersectionality and beyond! https://t.co/4vQvHNpuhd
Blue #poppies. Still one of my favourites. Makes me consider picking up the #paintbrushes (or rather knives) again after 5-year + break. Perhaps another thing to get back into this Autumn 🙂 #art

From the series of #idiocy : it seems that @tescomobile struggles to comprehend that not being able to receive calls means not being able to receive calls . #Fascinating really🧐
In the Bundestag there were readings of female political prisoners’ letters from the book "If you go through hell — don't stop" by Cornelia Dvořák. Maria Kalesnikava's letters were read by Claudia Roth, the State Minister for Culture and Media of the Federal Republic of Germany.
