Pete Hegseth just gutted the system troops use to report wrongdoing. The military’s Inspector General is how a service member safely reports fraud, abuse, a dangerous commander, or a sexual assault, often anonymously, without fear of retaliation. Hegseth’s overhaul strips that anonymity, lets “non-credible” complaints get tossed, and flags anyone who files too often. He calls the old system “weaponized," yet offered no evidence.

A junior enlisted troop who sees something wrong just lost their safest way to say so. That doesn't protect the force. It protects the people at the top. https://t.co/emuoZZJhD4

Get ready Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. When the next hurricane rolls in, You. Are. Fucked.

And the Blue states who continually fund your budget shortfalls, states you LOVE to spew hate about (CA, NY, IL, etc), will NOT be there to clean up the mess.

[Pork Shoulder Womack @c_drew_]

Basically, Trump and his cronies have stolen all of the money designated for FEMA.

Good luck Alabama. Best wishes Arkansas. Get well soon Kentucky. Don’t come begging to California.

I worked with FEMA in The White House.

This is an insane move. States don’t have the budget for this.

Ex: Katrina cost $108B, LA’s total state budget in ‘05 was $19B.

Batshit insane

Hey so the thing about public records is they’re public.

[Jacob Long @jacobwlong87]

Well, would you look at that. Greg Abbott is lying to Texas.

He claims he’s hit pause on all data center development.

Turns out his admin is still approving permits.

“…the approval process has since moved forward for dozens of data center projects.”
https://t.co/sisVJ2hwwA

[Texas Democratic Party @texasdemocrats]

YIKES: A new investigation has exposed Governor Abbott’s fake pause on data centers.

Since Abbott’s September 21st “pause” on data center permits, his administration has continued to move more than a dozen permits for data centers through the approvals process.

Greg Abbott lied to you to protect the industry spending millions to get him reelected.

Congress created the Medicare Improvement Fund for exactly what the name says: to IMPROVE Medicare.

There was nearly $2 billion sitting in it.

That money could have gone toward improving access to doctors, chronic-disease care, modernizing physician payments, lowering out-of-pocket costs or other long-term improvements to traditional Medicare.

Instead, Trump is using most of it to send 20 million seniors a one-time $90 check — about a month before the midterm elections.

The standard Medicare Part B premium is $202.90 a MONTH.

So we’re spending nearly $2 billion from a fund created to improve Medicare to give people a check that doesn’t even cover half of one month’s premium.

Then the money is gone.

Medicare isn’t $2 billion better. Everyone just got $90.

Bill, Donald Trump had cops beaten on the Capitol steps for a lie.

Obama:
-Lowest uninsured health rate in US history
-Insurers can't deny coverage or charge more bc of preexisting conditions
-Young adults can stay on a parent's plan until age 26
-Signed the Vets Choice Act into law, which Trump takes credit for -Fair Sentencing Act of 2010
-Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
-Rescue of General Motors and Chrysler during the Great Recession
-Expanded Pell Grants
-Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
-Repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell

THE “WORST OF THE WORST”: A NUN WITH A WORK PERMIT.

Sleep peacefully, America. ICE caught Sister Leticia Ugboaja walking to Sunday Mass.

She had a valid work permit, attended EVERY required immigration appointment and complied with EVERY condition of her court-ordered protection.

A nun. A nurse. Following the rules. Walking to church.

Thank God they got to her before she could receive Communion.

It took intervention from members of Congress to help secure her release. Apparently, a work permit and doing everything immigration officials require aren’t quite as effective as knowing someone in Congress.

So much for “do it the right way" hey MAGA????

BREAKING: YES! U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly BLOCKS Trump’s White House ban on CNN, Politico, and MS NOW in a stunningly fast defeat for MAGA.

Are we tired of winning yet, folks?

Kelly has ordered the administration to return access to the outlets in question by placing a temporary block on the ban, which Trump put into place last Friday while whining about supposed “fake news.”

The news organizations promptly sued, confident that they were on unshakable legal ground since Trump’s ban — which he pathetically, retroactively tried to justify on “national security” grounds — represents a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

Kelly’s late-night ruling, which came after a hearing yesterday in which he voiced doubts that the administration had followed due process, directs the White House to “immediately return, reinstate, and restore” the outlets access.

Kelly’s temporary restraining order on the ban will be in effect for two weeks and during that time it’s likely that a more permanent legal remedy will be implemented. Judging by the developments in the case so far, it seems extremely likely that Trump is headed for total defeat.

“This is a high bar, but Plaintiffs have met it,” he wrote, regarding the request for the order.

He also directly questioned the validity of Trump’s patently absurd defense of the ban—

“Nothing in the record ... suggests that the revocation of Plaintiffs’ hard passes was motivated by national security concerns,” the judge wrote.

“This is a strong ruling vindicating freedom of the press, due process and the rule of law,” stated Theodore Boutrous Jr., an attorney for the outlets. “We greatly appreciate the court’s swift action.”

Please ❤️ and share to thank the judge!

This is illegal

Notice the text at the bottom, “paid for by the US government”.

Why the hell is the US government and our taxpayers paying for Trump political ad on Fox News?

[Headquarters @HQNewsNow]

Lawyer for Texas man shot by ICE, Wilber Garcés Perez:

4 hours after Wilber had been shot, he was released into ICE custody. We were not told anything about his condition or where he was. No one from ICE gave us that information, and we did not find him until 10am this morning. We learned that at 4pm, he still had a bullet lodged in his back. They didn't give him pain medication and they transferred him to ICE to a processing center where he spent the night without a bed.

CNN: “Early today, CNN journalists were denied access to the White House grounds. CNN’s mission to report on the U.S. government will continue regardless of any attempts to restrict physical access to the White House and other government buildings, or any other attempts to impede our journalism. We have a right under the U.S. Constitution to do our reporting without hindrance or interference from the government and this ban is an illegal assault on this fundamental right.” https://t.co/35YeJIlzRN

“I’M A CITIZEN.” NINE TIMES. WHY WASN’T ONCE ENOUGH? BECAUSE ICE ARE GOVERNMENT SPONSORED CRIMINALS

Nimco Omar repeatedly told federal agents she was an American citizen. They surrounded her in Minneapolis, pressed her about where she was born and demanded identification. She was walking through her own community.

https://t.co/du9bv2TwAq helps people understand the constitutional boundaries that by law these agents must respect. They prevented her from leaving without reasonable suspicion , that was an unlawful detention under the Fourth Amendment.

A badge does not turn racism into reasonable suspicion. A citizen should not have to defend her belonging to masked agents on an American street.
