Just a month later and...
🇪🇺 ChatControl is back!
Now they're trying to pass an even more far reaching ChatControl law through the back door, in a form even more intrusive than the originally rejected plan, without needing any of the EU countries votes
The new proposal:
- total mandatory surveillance of ALL text chats, emails and social media in the EU
- obligatory registration of your ID/passport to your chat, email or social media account
- minimum age requirement for chat, email and social media apps of 16 (!)
The only way to stop this law is if EU countries veto it

The ECB estimates the software development costs of the digital euro at EUR 1.3 billion.
There is no transparency on how this money is spent.
You can buy a lot of developers with a billion euros. Or you can waste a lot of taxpayers money.

It just came out the 🇪🇺 European Commission was actively buying advertisement to promote its own ChatControl bill, targeting specific political demographics
Which is something that's illegal by the way
Reports of Discord being hacked detail how the hackers were able to get access to the Government IDs of users who appealed the recently-enforced Age Verification checks.
The EU Chat Control proposal would be a catastrophe for Europe. It would seal Europeans behind a new digital Berlin wall, cut off from Signal and other e2e messengers. It's embarrassing and dangerous that it's gotten this close already. Time to bail to back to sanity.
Fight Chat Control.
You cannot make society secure by making people insecure.
We all deserve privacy and security, without inevitably hackable backdoors, for our private communications.
The fact that the government officials want to exempt themselves from their own law is telling: https://t.co/s2AF6wMPL3
Apple gets it. Robots are going to be everywhere, but they won’t look like robots. Check out their new paper ELEGNT.
I believe this is the future of everyday objects: helpful and human.
@KevinNaughtonJr Unpopular opinion maybe, but unless you regularly change machines it’s very refreshing to do the setup from scratch again, applying all lessons learned since the last setup ^^
Read an interesting point on the relative simplicity of C as a language vs C++
“When writing C++ there’s always more than one way to do something and many micro-decisions need to happen”
These micro decisions stimulate overthinking and overengineering

Anti-pattern. Please, do not do this to your users lol. They do not know what this fee is, what it means, when to add it, how much to add.
All this does is that it adds another variable to the smooth experience on Solana, which users need to worry about.
DO NOT surface priority fee to your users.
