@elonmusk Jesus use your brain - it’s part of defending against social engineering (a real, studied problem), of which “large scale social deception” is a type.
While prevention of Pb exposure remains a priority, we also need to figure out how to help the millions of children already exposed to Pb. We encourage the study of interventions to recover cognitive function in Pb-exposed children. (3/3)
Why? We’re not sure, but recent studies in animals suggest brain damage caused by Pb can be restored by creating cognitively-stimulating environments (toys, puzzles, etc). (2/3)
Happy to share that the 2nd chapter of my dissertation has been published! We find that cognitive deficits caused by low-level Pb exposure in early childhood are weakened several years later. (1/3) https://t.co/HnU6eKYFBU
Also delighted to read and thankful to Dr. Birgit Claus Henn and her commentary highlighting balance and potential synergy between exposomics and a priori specified exposures, as well as novelty of our effort to consider nutrients as mechanistically relevant co-exposures
My first #dissertation paper is now on @EHPonline! We study how a mother’s exposure to #mixtures of metals and nutrients during pregnancy impacts their child’s cognitive ability at multiple time points. Not possible without tremendous support from @cardenaasca and many others!

One of the most fascinating aspects of society is what we choose to regulate
Ex: we regulate the heck out of medical products, even those posing no risk
Yet we unleash GPT-4 w no regulation despite that it WILL massively impact all of society and every human on earth
Strange.

Authors, don’t be afraid to give yourself a little leeway over the next two months. Not every paper has to be submitted by New Year’s Eve. Ease stress by setting reasonable deadlines and recognizing that your science is just as good after the holidays as before. #TuesdayTip
