The writing is so clearly on the wall. Why would you EVER spend time learning Excel or Python anymore? Or how to update a CRM? Or how to do anything requiring a computer? These “skills” are now commoditized. Every job not requiring interpersonal communication is NO LONGER RELEVANT.

You are 26 years old, entering your mid associate years. You want to bet over the next 5 years that these things don’t catch you? You, a 90th percentile intellect, fancy college status chaser, want to compete with this? Stop, man.

Play a different game. This is one you WILL LOSE.

@moseskagan I told this to my superiors in my prior role and they laughed. I exited high status back office to low status client facing. I feel I made the right choice and also feel bad that the skillset I developed is rendered effectively useless

@thecaseywoodard I just moved myself. Two major downsides:

1) unbearably hot
2) crazy traffic

Other than that, be prepared to understand and speak spanish. Loving it so far

It had too many gaps for it to be truly effective in my daily life. Astra closed those gaps and I'm watching it go in awe. Genuinely. So exciting and thought provoking

@UseFastlane The entire online world is fake - you just don’t know it yet. Two weeks ago I bet my career on this exact phenomenon and I’m very glad to see I’m headed to a world that relies more on in-person interaction and trust than anything else
