The heroes of Normandy deserve remembrance, gratitude and humility.
Using D-Day commemorations as a platform for culture-war politics is shameless. Yet that increasingly seems to be standard practice for the Trump administration.
Russian strike on an ambulance in Kherson today.
Russia is systematically tearing Kherson apart, committing one war crime after another. The city is in a desperate, critical situation‼️‼️
Why are the 2026 fights over redistricting so much different than typical partisan gerrymandering?
I have an explainer.
Trump's demands to create new maps ahead of the midterms to escape accountability at the ballot box are what put us in uncharted territory.
From me.
The Cancer Research Machine Trump Is Gutting Just Delivered a Big Breakthrough.
Big story on the progress being made in government medical research by @CitizenCohn

students are vigorously encouraged to use AI programs for--what? composing their work, doing their projects? unless this means something else altogether it does seem to suggest that undergraduate teaching is becoming an empty ritual, students will graduate without really knowing anything, & will then promptly be unemployable because they don't know anything except what an AI device could provide for them.
please let's all hope that medical school is different. if you need surgery, let's hope that the surgeon actually knows what she/he is doing.
frankly, it is surprising that the University of Chicago would so quickly cave in; it does, or did, have a very high reputation.
friends & academic colleagues of mine who are more familiar with AI than the average person warn that it makes many mistakes; AI is not a panacea or an omniscient god.
blind trust in the device would seem to be naive, like believing every book or article you read is true,
university instruction is certainly much more than passively taking in canned information; a primary goal is to give students practice in thinking, reasoning, organizing, presenting original material to their peers & instructors.
Had a pretty heated live hit for @i24NEWS_EN, which happened to include none other than Sergey Markov — a russian propagandist, politician, former Putin's advisor a longtime supporter of the regime, and essentially a war criminal.
He was hysterical, screaming and yelling at me (you can judge for yourself — I’m attaching the video below). But what was actually interesting is that he was also shouting that russia no longer has any territorial gains, despite years of repetitive claims to the contrary since 2014. It’s remarkable how much can change after Ukrainian long-range strikes.
I think Markov knows he is a war criminal and that he will eventually be prosecuted for his role in supporting the genocidal war against Ukraine. That’s why I’m saving this video for the future archives documenting those who supported the regime — and who will likely be the first to betray that ideology when the time comes.
Thank you, @natasharaquel_, for the great moderation. It was a very difficult interview for sure🙏
The moment of one of today’s Russian strikes on Kyiv.
I can see that fewer and fewer people are reading news from Ukraine. I understand that on a Sunday morning, people don’t want to read about war. They want to sleep a little longer, drink good coffee, and sit in the sun. I understand that. The algorithms on X limit content about war, destruction, and suffering. You have to make an effort to even see this information.
All of this is understandable on a human level. But unfortunately, if you remove Putin and the war from your information feed, they do not disappear from reality.
Putin is a sadist and a maniac. He is a threat to all of humanity.
There needs to be active resistance. News from Ukraine needs to be shared. People need to keep their focus.
Despite a sleepless night, I’m still here. And I’m grateful to everyone who continues to stand with us.
One day, we’ll drink morning coffee together in a beautiful, peaceful Kyiv.
US appeals court judges questioned whether President Donald Trump’s executive orders targeting four law firms were a defensible use of his authority over security clearances. https://t.co/3xFAl5cyFk
with much -loved new USC president Being-Soo Kim. many thanks for inviting me to this warm & celebratory graduation on a perfect May evening in LA.
some Americans have literally been paying into Social Security for 50, 60 years; & this multi-billionaire from South Africa dismisses Social Security as a mere "entitlement"--not workers' actual pay, deferred.
cutting Social Security would be literally--not metaphorically: literally--stealing earned money from American citizens.
please let us hope that MAGA gets this news from some source other than Fox; otherwise, MAGA might agree to it without comprehending.
No matter how long it takes, it will be essential to someday figure out and hold accountable the people profiting off these constant and absurd leaks of imminent peace often to the same outlet.
Over 30 people were killed by Russian strikes in a little more than a day. No reaction, no coverage, not even condemnation. Nothing. If people were blown to bits anywhere else in Europe, there would be gigantic coverage, outrage, and help. But not in Ukraine.
The State Department fired 200 experienced U.S. Foreign Service Officers today. No Administration has been more dismissive of our nonpartisan career diplomats. Shameful.
MICHAEL WEISS: Ukraine is not losing the war. Ukraine is a winner on global stage. United States has to appreciate that. Even Russians beginning to appreciate it.
When Zelenskyy can threaten Russia and say, “You guys afraid of having proper Victory Day parade on Red Square because of fear of our drones.”
And this was again supposed to be three-day conflict, with Russian troops and Russian columns at Polish border within two weeks.
That is nothing short of breathtaking state of affairs. That is development very few people in analytic community saw coming.
