I want to be very clear and very critical about this product strategy.
The expectations set by the marketing of 1:1 ramping or stablecoin movement rarely match the reality of the situation.
I know because I have talked to all of these teams.
1:1 is often used as a blanket statement but once you talk to the team, they can only do 1:1 in certain situations, for certain volumes, at certain times.
These teams are still subject to the laws of payment physics. Often, they go about doing 1:1 in a few different ways:
1. They are eating the cost of ramping or swapping, calling it CAC (Customer Acquisition Costs) and betting on long term customer LTV. This only works in some scenarios and only for a short amount of time.
2. They are netting (or trying to net). This strategy does not work because flows are almost never billateral - stablecoin flows almost heavily lean towards one direction. Some of these companies still charge you the standard cost of swapping or ramping and then provide rebates ONLY IF they can net out on the other end.
Lots of folks are marketing themselves as a clearinghouse, but most of these companies are operating as an OTC desk who need to play by the same laws of stablecoin physics as everyone else.
Don't be fooled. Use your brain.
the "stablecoin sandwich" is the most underrated concept in payments right now
here's how it works: collect fiat from the sender, convert to USDC or USDT for cross-border transfer, then convert back to local fiat for the recipient

Still can't believe 303 Creative actually made it to SCOTUS.
Courts on fiscal issues: "neener neener, nobody has standing about anything, even if it's billions of dollars"
Courts on social issues: "why yes I will take this case about the hypothetical thing that makes you mad"
Startups pay staggering salaries to C-Suite, VPs, and Engineers, etc but in every company there is some 26 year old Operations Associate and that's the person who is holding the entire company together.
my bf is on a plane to miami right now and a bulldog in the row next to him just had diarrhea. everyone freaked out, the dog owner began sobbing, and the dog escaped. now, covered in poo, it is running around the plane. people are lifting up their legs and screaming.
Congrats to the team @SwadeshHQ on the round!
Swadesh (YC S19) is building the world's first neobank for Indian expats. They just launched zero-balance U.S. bank accounts that can be opened from India with just an Indian passport & U.S. Visa in 3 minutes: https://t.co/CYrSML07x0
