Private clinics shouldn't be getting 2-3X what public facilities receive for the same treatment - public funds that should be funding public institutions.
Enforce the Canada Health Act @MarkJCarney#onpoli#onhealth#DougFordIsCorrupt
Ireland's basic income pilot for artists worked so well they made it permanent. The economic growth it generated paid back more than its net cost, study shows.
How many people are being held back from their potential because they're living bill-to-bill? UBI is true freedom.
My graduate-level ethics course at the Bush School of Government and Public Service was canceled because I would not agree to voluntarily censor discussion of how race, gender, and sexuality affect how public servants wield tremendous power over life-and-death decisions—and everything in between.
To send future public servants into the world without grappling with those realities in an ethics course is truly frightening.
@Concern70732755 If you were literate enough to read the article you would know the decision was that the person did not have to have both the removal AND v.p. surgery for it to be covered. It is actually less expensive, I imagine, since it's 1 not 2 surgeries. But you ❄️don't care about facts.
What! Ontario taxpayers are funding a communications centre that only PC's are allowed to use? That is serious breach of Ethics and misuse of taxpayer money. @OntLiberal@OntarioNDP Who is reporting this to the Ethics and Elections overseers.
@newstart_2024 I've never heard of this person so I looked her up. I can't find anything (even on her LinkedIn) that gives her the title of doctor. She's a social worker (MSW) as best I can find. Why is she talking about testosterone levels?
Could you imagine if there were journalists whose beat was covering magicians, but they think magic is real, so they're always breathlessly reporting on the lady they saw cut in half.
@Stockwell_Day@MarkJCarney You know, if I was a hateful bigot who was also ignorant of the laws and customs of his nation (like minors not being eligible for surgery) I would keep my mouth shut and not embarrass myself for all the world to see.
@OntUniv When you are done kissing Ford's ... ring, would you like to opine on the change to OSAP from 15% min loan to 85% minimum and how that will affect who gets to go to university and the debt they will bear? Or how Ford is deciding what subjs deserve to be funded and what do not?
I'm a student and can admit that the tuition freeze was not viable in the long term. #onpoli
But to cut the maximum allowable grant from 85% to 25% is a class barrier that will work to keep the poor poor and keep the rich rich.
Todays announcement of the reduction of OSAP Ed grants from 85% down to a token 25% of tuition is absolutely devastating news for low and middle income families. Meanwhile the Loan % increases resulting in both a barrier to enrolment and a massive increase in student debt for struggling families.
@XZRise10@SuperZinba@theWellRedMage I can't speak for everyone, but I still have the manuals from Strike Commander (1993, it was a full fictional magazine with novellas), Ultima VII (1993), Mechwarrior 2 (1995), the map from Morrowind (2002) is on the wall behind me.... Some of us did really love that stuff.
@KGYEG@AndieWinnipeg Additionally, you say "If you want exceptionalism then you need to ensure everyone you hire is truly exceptional." That ensuring is what DEI is.
@KGYEG@AndieWinnipeg That is noncontroversial only if your world view is so ignorantly one-dimensional you think that there are no barriers to the participation of some groups. As a disabled disability scholar the kind of privilege you must have to believe that is beyond my comprehension.
