@Kristen60433309 @KIN110UofR I feel like if there wasn't any alcohol at sports then the attendance would go down but not by a major margin. But if violence was taken out of sports then I think the attendance to sports games would plummet because the games would be considered boring.

@Abby63230033 @KIN110UofR Sport without violence probably wouldn't be the same. If you take the violence out of football then what is left? Nothing really, I suppose you could have them play touch football but is that what you would pay to watch? I wouldn't.

@BriannaSwyryda @KIN110UofR I believe that Lacrosse is the most violent sport. The amount of contact that is in the sport is very high and then you pair that with the rules and the amount of slashing and hitting that is allowed creates a very violent sport

@KIN110UofR We should encourage women at a young age to get into sports and then give them the tools to help them succeed in a leadership role in these environments. We need to set up coaching sessions just for women so that they can get the proper training to become professional coaches.

@KIN110UofR I think they are changing but not by much. Many sports players still are seen as tough as nails no crying, emotionless machines. While some will cry or get emotional. And while there are very few athletes that are openly gay, the fact that there is a few is a step forward.

@KIN110UofR Governments can prioritize sport and fitness facilities more. There needs to be more facilities that offer physical activity and they need to be cheap or even free to get into so that everyone can go and be active. Also, they need to advertise when active programs are happening.

@KIN110UofR I feel that soccer is underrepresented in North America. Compared to basically any other country in the world. Canada and the US don't really advertise the sport despite the immense popularity of the sport all over the world.

@KIN110UofR Major sports providers like TSN and SportsNet tend to advertise mens sports. We don't really see much on women's sports or university sports through these companies. They assume that men's sports is the only thing we care about and don't advertise very much of anything else.

@KIN110UofR One that comes to mind is the 3 on 3 overtime in the NHL. Before, overtimes were 5 on 5 and tended to be long and boring. It was really just teams trying to get to a shootout. Now it's filled with big plays on both ends of the ice and teams taking risks to win the game.

@KIN110UofR If you are just talking about the ads on the ice or boards of hockey, then it doesn't really impact my enjoyment. Although if you're talking about commercial breaks those can become annoying after a bit. Overall though I find they don't really impact my enjoyment.

@KIN110UofR The Riders have a talking bottle opener. It's bright green and whenever it opens a bottle it says "Bottom's up! Let's go Roughriders!".

@KIN110UofR Well the Riders are the biggest sports team in the province and have a big stadium. But even bigger then that is the shareholder aspect. People have a say with what happens with the team so that creates a connection with the team that draws people to games.

@KIN110UofR We weren't allowed to leave the property, throw snow, play tackle football, or try to sneak back inside. It got so bad that the teachers eventually made a line and said if you pass it, you would get detention.

@KIN110UofR I would definitely let my kids play on #adventureplaygrounds They might be more risky but kids need to learn what is safe and what isn't They learn best when they actually do something It's better for them to be out there learning from these playgrounds then to be sitting at home

@KIN110UofR I think most kids just want to have fun. But once they hit a certain age and/or skill level it becomes more competitive. It's still very important though that even when it becomes more competitive that the kids are still having fun. #KIN110Fall2019

@KIN110UofR In baseball, if you hit a walk off home run it's customary for your team to crowd around the plate and celebrate at the plate when you get there. This isn't mandatory it's just something that we always do.

@KIN110UofR I had given up my playing career I few years ago and when I started University I was introduced into other things in sport. Like being an Admin assistant and doing other volunteer things for teams behind the scenes. There is more to sports then just playing #changingparticipation
