May 21 marks Ontario Flag Day. On this day in 1965, Ontario officially adopted the flag we proudly raise today.
Our flag represents the history, diversity, and communities that make Ontario strong. From every corner of this province, people from all backgrounds continue to shape and contribute to the Ontario we know today.
Happy Ontario Flag Day!
Today we celebrate Ontario Flag Day — and the people, communities, and cultures that make this province what it is.
Ontario’s strength has always come from its diversity, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a good life here.

Happy Victoria Day, Canada.
Grills are firing up, lakes are opening, cottages are waking back up, and for many Canadians, it feels like the long weekend that marks the beginning of summer.
Victoria Day reminds us of the history that shaped our country. It honours Queen Victoria, the monarch who gave royal assent to the British North America Act. For me it also honours our ancient English liberties that run from the 13th-century Magna Carta to present day Parliamentary accountability.

@stats_feed It's sad, if predictable, that Brits in the responses discount this stat, insist that it's simply exchange rates, GDP is meaningless, etc. You can bet if it was the other direction (France surpassing UK), these Eeyores would 100% agree with the stat
Canada needs both languages. Anglos who work in Quebec, especially CEOs, need to actually make the effort to learn French. That being said, French speaking Quebecois are quite picky about the level of fluency from an Anglo before they will respond in French.

I sincerely hope that mine is just one of many portraits of Prime Ministers from both parties that will continue to be hung in the Parliament of Canada for decades and centuries to come […] but that will require that in these perilous times both parties whatever their differences, come together to preserve the independence and unity of this blessed land.
@nfergus@nfergus is a brilliant writer and speaker. While he was "in opposition" his takes were refreshing. Now that the red team is ascendant, he is defending the indefensible and making excuses for bullies. Dr. Ferguson is better than this.
