I want to commend the great work by WEST COMM 911 Dispatch Center and @WSPDTX related to intercepting two impaired drivers. In the first case, the intoxicated driver lost control and struck the security perimeter fence at @LockheedMartin. After the collision, the driver fled the wrong way down Spur 341 before being stopped and arrested.

In the second case, an intoxicated driver struck a mailbox in a neighborhood and fell asleep behind the wheel. That driver was arrested.

Great job by Officers Conley and Ramirez in both of these cases. Impaired driving continues to be an issue in our communities and across our highways.

After almost 18 months of planning with real-world operations, WEST COMM 911 is officially the largest communication center in western Tarrant County serving three direct cities and expanding police services across Tarrant County with multiple interlocal cooperation agreements.

Today, members of our @WSPDTX Honor Guard and I, attended a celebration of life for retired @ArlingtonPD Assistant Police Chief Kevin F. Kolbye.

After starting with the @DallasPD in 1983, he joined the @FBI in 1987 and worked his way to the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Field Division. In January 2015, Kevin joined Arlington as an Assistant Police Chief. He was a positive influence and we worked together for many years. Kevin retired from APD in 2022 and is survived by his wife Angela, his daughter Amanda, his son Chase, and his stepsons Elliott and Alexander, their girlfriends Macie and Annabelle, and his sister Karen and brother-in-law Doug.

Special thanks to the Arlington Police Department Honor Guard and executive command staff for attending and participating in the service today. @BNSFRailway Chief Special Agent @Will4IACP presented the flag to his wife Angela. Privileged to join other speakers in highlighting his legacy and impact on municipal policing.

Corporal Albert Gomez was remembered and honored at the State Capitol during the 2023 Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony. This video tribute is a solemn reminder of the service and legacy of our Heroes. Thank you @ArlingtonPD Officer Jesse Minton for reading the name of Corporal Gomez during the Roll Call of Honor. We will NEVER FORGET Captain Wid Spivey, Captain George “Scott” Monier, and Corporal Albert Gomez.
