S-DISCO participated at the ‘EU Green Week 2024’ conference in Brussels. The conference is part of #WaterWiseEU. A major concern is water pollution by chemicals, incl. pharmaceuticals, seen their harmful effects on our health and on the environment.

Following EU AI act, EMA and HMA have proposed workplan to balance the risk-benefits of AI in drug development. The workplan addresses 4 critical AI dimensions: policies, tools, training and experiments.

SDISCO students visited the API-pharmaceutical production plant of J&J in Geel (8 December 2023). They experienced the environmental, climate change and socio-economic focal points, driving pharmaceutical production more sustainable. Thanks to the J&J organizers and speakers !

The application deadline for EMJM scholarship students is 1st of December 2023. Self-funded students can apply until 31st of January 2024!

After the 2nd round of applications, the number of applications increased to 696, of which 27 students were accepted and 22 were granted an EMJM scholarship. Applications for the next academic year (2024-2025) will be opened in the summer of 2023. Timings to be announced!

Last month, our students organized the 1st S-DISCO Days in Gdańsk, Poland. This international scientific conference aims to raise awareness and expand the knowledge on sustainability in drug discovery for students, scientists and experts from various institutions and industries.
