No @josephpowell - you’ve lied to the Evening Standard and given false information
Your ‘Government’ is cutting our budget by £108m - a spiteful second homes tax doesn’t touch the sides of your punitive and vindictive decisions
You’re making your constituents poorer
Retract it
After months of supposed lobbying, Inner London MPs including @josephpowell and @ChelFulhamBen have managed to make their boroughs worse off!
I know that when Labour negotiate the country loses - but I didn’t think they’d all be quite so able to make a bad situation worse.
You don’t have to be a Tory to be disgusted by this devastating mash-up of Labour Party leaders lying through their back teeth about tax so they could win power.
Rachel Reeves’ budget is a disaster for schools. There will be a 1.7% cut to school per pupil funding, according to the OBR.
This is a slap in the face for schools & will mean more teachers’ jobs on the line.
So taxes on everyone who works, and pensioners, are going up.
Anyone who has made money, saved it and bought a valuable house will be penalised for their efforts and success. Pensioners who live in such homes will also have to pay tax with their depleted income.
People who cannot afford children will be incentivised to have more of them. Top of the list will be foreigners on benefits. Why not give workers a tax break for having children?!
National debt and taxes forecast to go up. Growth and productivity are forecast to flatline at best. A recession is round the corner.
This is a budget for those on benefits; punishing people who work, earn and save.
Mugabe economics in the UK.
Kemi destroyed Reeves' budget in the House of Commons today 🔥
Her budget's been exposed for what it is:
Raising taxes on hard-working people to pay for more benefits.
Endless handouts don’t lift children out of poverty. Getting parents into work does.
Scrapping the 2-child cap isn’t kind, fair to taxpayers or affordable... yet we're the only party who sees this.
To condemn all these people who attended yesterday’s @TRobinsonNewEra as far-right thugs is false. Just as it’s false to say they were all a bunch of angelic choristers.
Many were there because they genuinely care about their country, failed immigration policies and free speech.
