Submitted my dissertation @UniofOxford!
I use Najdi women’s poetry as a mode of ‘writing back’ at the Orientalist records on Najd in the 19th C, particularly on the misleading notions of its ‘emptiness.’ The intention is to create a counter-archive by mapping a new ecology.
I’m VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with Hayley Williams from @paramore and @falloutboy. Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album. They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and can’t wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th. https://t.co/NoneI6kxdH

Caught my daughter cosplaying as me with my clothes, purse, and phone while pretending to talk to her dad and saying, “daddy? mama no no.” What is she plotting? 😫
@E_AlK@AlAhliHospital Despite the comparison being flawed the example still stands. In many countries local is cheaper than global franchises — yes, it is difficult to operate but not entirely impossible to do so reasonably. The system is indeed the issue.
You guys, a latte at Eden in @AlAhliHospital is 24 QR, and additional syrup is 5 QR. That’s literally 29 QR for a cup equivalent to Starbucks’ tall/small. How can they honestly expect us to support local business when these are the prices? Crazy!
@E_AlK@AlAhliHospital I get your point, but I also see that there are multiple establishments that do have reasonable prices, and are doing well in the same climate— which is why I constantly question such places. Particularly when it comes down to the choice in vendor in certain facilities.
