@NeetuGarcha says it so well! This has been my experience as well. It is important to be mindful of how we pronounce students names and take the time to learn it #AbbySchools

What's in a name?
Global BC reporter @NeetuGarcha explores that question as she describes how she’s been saying her own name wrong most of her life, why she’s decided to stop and how to say it correctly.

Reading ‘Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics’ by @pgliljedahl this morning - and I know it’s a math book, but this line should be #teachergoals in every subject area! (PS- @1Hanak are you proud of my Saturday am reading??)
YASSSS! An admin that cares for teachers builds so much trust with their staff. And, teachers let's give back the same thought and caring to the admin. It is not us and them, we are in it together, shoulder to shoulder. We create a school's culture!
Started my Entrepreneurship 12 class with a story by the fire. Students love story-time at any age and had a meaningful discussion #AbbySchools#storytime#entrepreneurlife#SEL
This week I wrote my report cards with my students.
Our final exam was a reflection conversation about their learning & their growth.
We discussed challenges they faced, strategies they utilized, highlights of their learning & competency development.
Time well spent✨
Asked my students the following question for their first day back: “If teachers could know one thing, what would it be?”
Some of the responses were:
“School isn’t the most important thing in my life right now”
“I am very anxious to be here right now”
“We are kind of stressed”
“We shouldn’t reach for normal, we should reach for better” - @michele_norris
We could easily apply this to education, politics, and just life in general.
