Chandivali Residents approach 'God' for help with 700m road. Chandivli residents perform 'Sadbuddhi Havan' as last resort to get BMC to start work on vital connector after years of assurances; civic officials failed to move things on ground since 2023. Reported by Sarthak Mehta.

In the last 10 years, @mybmc has given approval to many projects by developers like Hiranandani Developers, Nahar Developers, Kanakia, Lodha, brookfied , GCC projects and many more, which are developing thousands of flats in the vicinity of Powai and Chandivali.
The BMC has not cared to develop the required infrastructure, such as DP roads as per the DP plans, which has severely congested the area. Residents sat on a hunger strike demanding the completion of the 90-foot road connecting Chandivali Farm Road to JVLR, for which was in the DP plan since 1990 and a tender was approved, but after three years, the project still remains incomplete and only on paper.
Similarly, the DP roads connecting Chandivali to Powai and Sakinaka to JVLR are also pending. Completing these roads would significantly decongest traffic in the area. Many such roads that have been in the DP plan since 1990 remain pending; if BMC is unable to keep pace with new developments, it should stop giving approvals to new projects.
An upcoming project with around 600 flats and a commercial mall by Nahar Developer is coming up in Chandivali, yet the authorities still fail to provide the required and approved infrastructure (DP roads) to the residents. @VarshaEGaikwad@Mi_DilipLande@mayor_mumbai@AshwiniBhide@mybmcInfra@TOIMumbai@htTweets@fpjindia@mid_day
Chandivali Farm Road has been converted into an unauthorized parking zone for heavy vehicles, causing significant issues for nearby residential complexes. A majority of these trucks are operated by Anmol Roadlines (Sakinaka). There are concerns regarding the lack of enforcement by the local traffic department in this matter.

🚨 Late-Night Construction at Nahar’s Chandi Valley. Residents are being forced to endure construction work throughout the night, often continuing till 3–4 AM. This has become a regular nuisance.
This constant night-time activity is causing serious inconvenience to the entire neighbourhood. Authorities need to step in and enforce norms.
@mybmc@MumbaiPolice — please take note. 🙏
No prescribed air-pollution mitigation measures, as required under BMC construction norms, are being implemented at the site.

Similarly cable wires are seen hanging in between the roads and illegally tied to trees. Many times these wires snap and can cause accidents and are dangerous to people riding on two wheelers.
Work of Maternity home at Chandivali has been started since 2019 @mybmc
Two years. Zero progress. Endless excuses.
This is not a government of the people. For years, Chandivali residents have been chasing @mybmc for the completion of the 90-feet road, the vital link between JVLR and Chandivali Farm Road.
Two years ago, @mybmc promised the road would be built on a war footing. Yet nothing has been done. My office has also been following up with the ward office, but the issue remains ignored.
The same government and @mybmc don’t waste a single minute when it comes to projects and works that benefit their builder, contractor friends. But when citizens demand basic infrastructure, they turn a blind eye.
Shameful!

Flashback: Two year ago, on August 20, 2023, residents of Chandivali sat on Anshan demanding the completion of a 90-feet road connecting JVLR to Chandivali farm road.
We are still waiting for the incomplete 90-feet DP road to be completed.

As per @HTMumbai article dated 09/06/2021 @mybmc had told the supreme court that 90% of the sewage treatment plant is completed and should be operational by December 2021. Where are those STP plants or Did BMC lie in the supreme court ?
A new e-tender worth Rs. 68.88 cr has been floated for procurement of a new STP plant for Powai Lake.
Clarification from @mybmc will be appreciated.
