@OutofSpecDave Not a bad thing in principal but owners paid a premium for a reliable network with almost no wait times.Charging experience would likely degrade as a result (blocked stalls bc of random charge port locations, slow charging vehicles etc). Less attractive to buy Tesla in that case
@plugshare@brandenflasch@ElectrifyAm Allowing checking-in on each plug attempted AND having more people check-in would work but as long as ratings are artificially enhanced it’ll be hard to build trust.
@Alex_Ionescu@ValueAnalyst1@seanmmitchell For actual winter driving FSD will need a way to clear grime and “slush” off cameras. Tsla surely knows this given the number their vehicles sold where winter involves a fair bit of snow. Maybe the next sensor suite will account for this (along with high res radar)
France is not fucking around
New legislation demands all *existing* carparks with 80 or more spaces must install a solar roof (in 3-5 years)
This could generate up to 11 gigawatts, which is the equivalent of 10 nuclear reactors

@ElectrekCo Maybe. Service degradation (availability) will surely ensue. With cost of the existing network built into their cars, tricky to do fairly.A good compromise might be to open up chargers built with public funding. Those could be built to accommodate random charge port locations
@robinivski@carinalarsen76@Tesla You got it , it’s a delicate balance. Too sensitive and you’ll get rear-ended in no time (i.e it’s a fine line with someone directing traffic standing on yellow line for example - not rare in NYC). On one hand you want help if you didn’t see a pedestrian..
@SenBlumenthal AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety estimates more than 5000 people die in drowsy driving accidents every year. The tech isn’t the problem with this crash, people are. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water here, we don’t ban cruise control because some misuse it, do we?
