Walk down the street and you’ll know which building is ours. Painted facade, the Nia sign lit at the entrance, balconies with actual life on them. Never grey. That’s the whole test.
Goods move on highways. Money moves on UPI. Information moves on the internet. The worker who makes all of it happen still starts over every single time. Agree/disagree?
Every Nia Studio, our managed housing near factories has a chai counter on the terrace, somewhere to sit once the shift ends. Not for the photos. 9pm with nowhere to sit is when people decide to leave. Make leaving home worth it. That’s the whole test.
And I hear so many VCs say we got a mandate to invest in deep tech and AI specifically. Firstly I wonder if US is heading up shit creek on this why do we want to go down the same road.
But what can one say. Stay hungry, stay foolish being our motto. 🙄
Six months ago I walked past this building near a manufacturing plant in Bangalore. Just another building. Last week I walked into it again. Umoja Fine Dining downstairs, a managed Nest upstairs. A Studio now. The building didn’t change. What we built inside it did.
India's migrant worker is not a man.
But most workforce infrastructure is built as if she is.
Housing. Mobility. Care. Safety. Opportunity. Miss any one of these and "hire more women" stays a slogan, not a plan.
What's the piece India overlooks most?
Most businesses have one customer. This one has three.
The company pays for it. The worker lives in it. The asset owner builds and holds it.
Get any one of those three misaligned and the whole model breaks.
Which side is hardest to align?
The facts first.
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka are all running 24-29% below India's fertility replacement level. (SRS 2021)
These are the states where manufacturing capital is concentrating. Continue reading:
This isn't a temporary mismatch that resolves itself.
Fertility rates don't reverse in a decade. The gap between where the jobs are and where the people are will likely widen before it narrows.
I paid ₹41,803.59 for ChatGPT Pro 500 on Oct 2. By Oct 3, 0% of the weekly allowance was left.
Usage shows “Exec” at 83%, “Desktop App” at 4%. What did my upgrade buy, and how was it consumed?
@sama@OpenAI @ChatGPTapp Who owns resolving this? Evidence attached.
@TataCLiQCare This was exceptionally badly handled. Took me many follow ups. I got my consignment but this isn’t the experience I am willing to through again.
@TATACLiQLuxury if you are working with @shadowfax_in to save costs it is showing in the customer experience.
See in the attached how their processes work!
Throw them out and you’d be better off.
@andymukherjee70 So many hits coming along (wars, AI and Nino) that hard to even compute or project the very significant toll this will have on human lives.
If five plants in the same corridor draw from the same labour pool, why is each one building its own version of housing, transport and welfare from scratch?
Shared workforce, shared infrastructure. The logic isn't complicated.
Name a corridor where this applies.
