“All records of dead and injured have been confiscated by authorities. We are not allowed to talk. Senior government officials are visiting the hospital to hide the records,” he said.

According to initial reports, the Pakistani military has shot several dozen peaceful protestors in Islamabad. It is reported that 15 bodies have been brought to PIMS, but access to the facility is being denied. Eight deaths have been confirmed so far. Last night, after 9 PM, the lights were turned off, and an assault was launched from three different directions. There are also reports of snipers being used, employing light targets to shoot protestors, similar to tactics used in military operations.
You were Right! Pakistan Army did a violent crackdown on unarmed civilian pro democracy protesters in Islamabad, using snipers, on the pattern of Gen. Sissi’s regime in Egypt! Scores are dead, Hospitals are full of injured. Difficult to believe that such a horrible thing was possible in the centre of Islamabad. Pakistan’s Army Chief is a psychopath but could this rashness, this audacity be possible without a green signal from Washington? @BradSherman@Ilhan@RepCasar@nytimesworld@amnesty@hrw
Pakistan's government has deployed the military with shoot-at-sight orders against tens of thousands of protestors marching against election rigging & the dismantling of the judiciary. The regime has shut down all networks & social media, turned off the lights and is now priming for a massacre. They must be stopped.

I wrote to the Govt of #Pakistan to express serious concern about proposed constitutional amendments that directly impact judicial independence and the right to a fair trial. An independent, impartial judiciary is essential to the preservation of democracy. The letter can be accessed here: https://t.co/lZmZFzV2Qz
