Our study "Intercellular interaction between FAP+ fibroblasts and CD150+ inflammatory monocytes mediates fibrostenosis in Crohn’s disease" is out https://t.co/NgN8TIW530 with first authors @kebojun and @saeedfc in collaboration with @SeverineVermei1 and the @ibdleuven team
Intercellular interaction between FAP+ fibroblasts and CD150+ inflammatory monocytes mediates fibrostenosis in @CD, a fantastic collaboration with @gmatteoli1978 with first authors

As we say in India, a 'double Dhamaka' from Mucosal Immunology Lab. Super happy to be part of this study co-lead by the amazing @LiesvanBaarle @VeronicaDeSimone alongside
@LindaSchneider from @UniBonn
Excited to announce our latest article on enteric glia-macrophage communication in colorectal cancer (CRC) now published in @NatureComms! https://t.co/zv5sJeCcn3

Broke through the PhD finish line 👨🎓 Immense gratitude to my promoter @gmatteoli1978 & co-promoter @bverstockt, & to my team at the Mucosal Immunology lab @TARGID_KULEUVEN. You've made the road worthwhile.🙏
Today our Human Lung Cell Atlas (HLCA) paper came out in Nature Medicine https://t.co/PAb5zP53p5! The HLCA includes 2.4M cells from 486 individuals and 49 datasets. Check out this tweetorial to learn more about how we built it, and how you can use it (1/21)
Our new article, "IL-1R signaling drives enteric glia-macrophage interaction in colorectal cancer progression" is now available as preprint https://t.co/hkVrRdE3YK fantastic collaboration between our lab @gmatteoli1978@TARGID_KULEUVEN and the lab of @ProfSvenWehner @UniBonn
📚For Tomorrow's #JournalClub Tapas Mukherjee @ImmunologyUofT will present a #preprint by @gmatteoli1978@SeverineVermei1 labs on how CD150 monocytes promote tissue fibrosis by inducing the differentiation of FAP fibroblasts in Crohn’s disease patients💥👇

Our study sheds light on fibrostenotic #CrohnsDisease! Together with @ibdleuven we uncover pro-fibrotic signals from CD150-monocytes, leading to a specific fibroblast population causing inflammation & tissue fibrosis. Follow our @fibrotarget@HorizonEU consortium for new update
New pre-print!! We analyzed a triad of lesions from fibrostenotic #CrohnsDisease patients (non-inflamed, inflamed & stenotic) & non-CD patients using scRNAseq. https://t.co/EPFNHVc6hG
#CD#IBD#inflammation
🧬 Key findings below.
1. Inflammatory monocytes activate a specific pathogenic ECMhi fibroblast population during inflammation.
2. TWIST1 is a crucial modulator of fibroblast activation & ECM production.
