🌊 Srisailam Flood Update | 07 August 2026 !!
Srisailam Reservoir continues to receive steady flood inflows from the upper Krishna basin, mainly through Jurala — and the drinking water, irrigation and power generation benefits of this season’s flows have now begun reaching both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
With storage steadily rising, water utilisation has commenced for drinking water and irrigation needs, including supplies towards Chennai and Rayalaseema. Power generation has also begun at the Right and Left Bank Hydroelectric Stations.
💧 Current Reservoir Status:
• Inflow into Srisailam: 2,07,821 cusecs
• Inflow from Jurala: 2,16,764 cusecs
• Outflow: 30,518 cusecs
• Full Reservoir Level: 885 ft
• Current Level: 873.20 ft
• Full Storage Capacity: 215.807 TMC
• Current Storage: 155.265 TMC
🚰 Water Releases: 30,518 cusecs including power generation.
• Pothireddypadu: 4,000 cusecs
• HNSS: 350 cusecs
⚡ Hydropower generation has commenced at both the Right and Left Bank power stations.
With nearly 155.3 TMC already stored, Srisailam has begun serving its crucial multi-purpose role this season — drinking water, irrigation and power generation for the region.

🌊 GODAVARI @ POLAVARAM: RISE → PEAK → RECESSION !!
Six days. One complete flood cycle — captured at the #Polavaram Spillway.
📈 Aug 1: 11.23 lakh cusecs → rising
🌊 Aug 2 PEAK: 14.86 lakh cusecs
📉 Aug 3: 9.74 lakh cusecs → receding
📉 Aug 4: 6.50 lakh cusecs
📉 Aug 5: 4.33 lakh cusecs
📉 Aug 6: ~4.00 lakh cusecs
See day wise highest flood and the hydrology is clearly visible.
Heavy runoff from the upper Godavari catchment produced a rapid rising limb, taking the discharge from 11.23 lakh to nearly 15 lakh cusecs.
After peaking on August 2, declining upstream inflows created a sustained recession limb, bringing the discharge down by about 73% from the peak by August 6.
🏗️ And throughout this flood pulse, the Polavaram Spillway constructed by @MEIL_Group and @AP_GovPortal kept routing the Godavari downstream without pressure on UCD & LCD and mainly no impact on work space where ECRF work are going on — from the rising flood, through the peak, and into recession.
11.23L → 14.86L → 4.00L cusecs.
This is a flood hydrograph unfolding in real time — and a massive spillway doing its job. 🌊

🌊 SRISAILAM RISING — GOOD NEWS FOR BOTH TELUGU STATES!
Steady Krishna inflows from the upper reaches, mainly through Jurala, are rapidly improving storage at Srisailam.
📈 Nearly 20 TMC ft added since yesterday!
💧 Inflow: 2,20,948 cusecs
🚫 Outflow: Nil
🌊 Water Level: 869.20 ft / 885 ft
💦 Storage: 138.27 / 215.81 TMC ft.
Around 77.5 TMC ft remains to reach full capacity. If the present inflow continues without major releases, Srisailam could approach full storage in about 4 or 5 days.
That would set the stage for water to move further downstream towards Nagarjuna Sagar, subject to reservoir operations.
These visuals tell the story: Krishna water is steadily rebuilding Srisailam. A very encouraging sight for Andhra Pradesh & Telangana — especially farmers across the Krishna basin. 🌾 Already water lifting started from HNSS for Rayalaseema.

🌊 GOOD INFLOWS INTO SRISAILAM | KRISHNA RIVER
Encouraging scenes at Srisailam Reservoir as strong inflows continue from the upper Krishna basin, including Jurala — welcome news for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana amid concerns over an El Niño-influenced monsoon.
💧 Current Status:
• Inflow: 2,45,183 cusecs
• Outflow: NIL
• Full Reservoir Level: 885 ft
• Present Level: 863.90 ft
• Full Storage Capacity: 215.807 TMC
• Present Storage: 118.622 TMC
• Hydel generation at Right & Left Bank power stations: Yet to commence
At the present inflow of about 2.45 lakh cusecs, Srisailam is receiving roughly 21 TMC of water per day.
However, the reservoir still requires nearly 97 TMC to reach its full storage capacity. If these inflows sustain—or increase—the reservoir can build up quickly. Otherwise, it will take more time before Srisailam reaches full capacity and begins spilling downstream.
The powerful inflow visuals are certainly an encouraging sight for the Krishna basin. 🌊

🌊 POLAVARAM SPILLWAY — GODAVARI’S FLOOD HIGHWAY
“48 radial gates. One massive spillway. The mighty Godavari in full force.” A spectacular display of the mighty Godavari at Polavaram!
After the Godavari’s main river course was progressively closed/diverted through the Upper Cofferdam (UCD), flood flows have been routed through the massive Polavaram Spillway constructed by @MEIL_Group@APCMOGovt .
🔹 Spillway design capacity: 50 lakh cusecs
🔹 Historic Godavari flood (1986): ~36 lakh cusecs
🔹 Major peak floods: Can reach around 20 lakh cusecs and above
The spillway was completed as part of the Polavaram works, while the UCD and associated river-diversion arrangements enabled the Godavari flows to be channelled through the spillway.

Tungabhadra is witnessing a severe water shortfall.
Tungabhadra Dam Update | 30 July 2026 🌊. As of Thursday, 30 July 2026, the Tungabhadra Dam is witnessing a severe shortfall in inflows due to deficient rainfall across its catchment area.
📍 Current Inflow: 14,950 cusecs
📍 Present Outflow (RBLLC): 3,680 cusecs
📍 Inflow on the same day last year: 1,01,537 cusecs
📍 10-year average inflow: 50,395 cusecs
The current inflow is well below both last year's level and the 10-year average, highlighting the impact of a weak monsoon over the Tungabhadra basin. Continued rainfall in the catchment area is crucial to improve reservoir storage and support irrigation, drinking water supply, and downstream requirements in the coming months. #TungabhadraDam #Tungabhadra #WaterResources #Monsoon2026 #RainfallDeficit #WaterCrisis #ReservoirUpdate #RiverFlows #Irrigation #Karnataka #AndhraPradesh #WaterManagement #ClimateChange #Hydrology #IndiaWater
On 17 December 2025, Sudha Reddy Foundation and MEIL Foundation, led by philanthropist and MEIL Group Director Sudha Reddy, carried out a welfare drive in Hyderabad. They distributed winter blankets and sanitary kits to orphanage girl children and residents of old age homes across eight centres in the city.
Each location received planned quantities to cover all identified beneficiaries. Sudha Reddy personally visited the institutions, offering encouragement and respect along with material support. This initiative highlights MEIL Group and SR Foundation’s commitment to community welfare, showing that true business success must include compassion and inclusive growth.
