@DenisFlierl Your article states: “Jamie doesn't have the new Ford Explorer Hybrid but has a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology.”
The 2025 has either the 2.3 l or 3.0 l ecoboost - not 1.5.
Regardless, good to highlight this problem.
Hyundai/Kia thefts reveal shortcomings with FMVSS 114, which doesn’t do much to prevent amateur thieves–the very reason for the standard. Safety Research & Strategies petitioned NHTSA to amend the compliance test for 114’s theft standard to make it useful. https://t.co/DyQDVAlzYX
@NHTSAgov Why isn't this a recall? Software fix "requires the key to be in the ignition switch to turn the vehicle on" - it's apparent that steering and forward self-mobility aren't prevented-how does that comply with FMVSS114? If there is compliance, it's still a safety-related defect.

It’s been 4 years since NHTSA released a Non-Traffic incident analysis, which includes an estimate of the annual rollaway injury and deaths. The newest numbers are out. Takeaway: Rollaway is pretty much the same threat to public safety it’s always been. https://t.co/aIaw4Gj1Az

AN:"The NTSB has long advocated for the 'Safe System' approach... Have you seen any efforts underway at the U.S. DOT to implement this approach?" NTSB Chair Homenday:"Not on the NHTSA side... I haven't seen what I'd like to see...implementing some standards for vehicle safety"
So @nhtsa owns a @Tesla and FSD was paid for. Earlier this year somehow the OTA upgrade to enable FSD was delayed to that particular vehicle, preventing the agency from using it. And testing it. At least that’s what NHTSA is saying here @elonmusk
Our new safety test of @ElonMusk’s Full Self-Driving Teslas discovered that they will indiscriminately mow down children.
Today @RealDawnProject launches a nationwide TV ad campaign demanding @NHTSAgov ban Full Self-Driving until @ElonMusk proves it won’t mow down children.
Exclusive~ Don't want this option, no problem, you don't have to take it, but you still have to pay for it. @freepautos@freep@UAW@Ford@GM@GMC https://t.co/FpBb4XZ144
