#Dermatologists have coined a term for this: ‘#cosmeticorexia’. Though not yet a formally recognised medical or psychiatric diagnosis, the term recently gained attention after an editorial published this year in Dermatology and Therapy by Italian researchers defined it as “a culturally reinforced preoccupation with achieving ‘#flawless’ #skin that can lead to excessive, age-inappropriate, or compulsive use of cosmetic products and procedures”, a condition that deserves greater attention from dermatologists and mental health professionals alike. @timesofindia @drKabirSardana @alokvkulkarni #health @TOIPlus @saikat_81
