@kcdunfordbooks Since your betas didn't flag trimming, a fresh set of eyes might catch what they missed. If you'd like, I'd be glad to beta read AFTERMOON and give you honest feedback on pacing and any spots that could tighten up. Is that something you'd consider?
@badjourno Those AI detectors are really unreliable. Some authors Iโve worked with used them and hated the results, even writing theyโd spent months on was flagged as 70-100% AI. As in.....
Whatโs the current word count of the piece so far?
@LahayeRob Wow, 2026 has truly been a good year for you, Lahay!
Congrats to you on finishing the first draft of your sixth story. Just curious, what's your best next step for your sixth novel since you're done with the first draft?
@ModomSolutions@book_io Big Congrats!!!
Would love to read this once you're ready for some fresh eyes.
What type of feedback would you be looking forward to get from readers by then?
@author_liz_mac Nice progress! 1/3 through edits is a solid place to be.
Whatโs the book about? And whatโs your best next step after you finish this round of self-edits?
@IraborOmonzoje Makes sense taking time with those details for a debut. Which platform are you planning to publish on? Do you already have a cover and formatter? And how soon are you hoping to release it?
@kcdunfordbooks Makes sense, that decision can be tough. I think getting a beta reader to go through it one more time could help flag possible areas to trim without changing the tone or voice.
What's your thought towards that?
@kcdunfordbooks Nice, just checked the pitch. Bureaucratic lunar afterlife + forced to facilitate the murder of the woman he loves is a really strong hook. Dark and snarky sounds perfect for it.
Are you planning to query at 108k, or still thinking about one more cut?
@KhristinaChess It's great being an indie author tbh! Most of the authors in my community are indie authors and made great success through that. What's about your book, and what other way do you plan on reaching more readers for your book?
@nuclearstu I'd love to read! Would you mind sending a DM? I'd be excited to know more about your work to see if it's something I'm gonna like investing my time into.
Writing is hard. Getting honest feedback shouldn't be.
I'm currently accepting a few new beta reading projects. If you're looking for detailed, constructive feedback on your manuscript, my DMs are open. ๐๐ฌ
