@HannahHabtu I mean Tigrayans see themselves as Ethiopians. So maybe if they full out begin advocating for independence and sovereignty, the legal and political framing could shift from internal unrest to an invasion.
I mean looking at your map clearly they haven’t learn a thing. Like you said they are advancing without clearing their flanks on either sides, it just feels like they are chasing feel good headlines. Besides, as you know no army today can sustain holding vast areas, especially now that the TPLF appears to have drone capabilities. Historically, it is also easier to defend against an invasion in your own backyard.
Hopefully Isaias don’t commit strategic suicide. You can’t build a political base with people driven by hate, and there clearly seems to be a growing number of pro-Ethiopia Tigrayans and Oromos. Certain Oromos perceive an attack on the PP as an attack on Oromo, and certain Tigrayans simply hate TPLF/Eritrea more than they hate the PP. From an Eritrean standpoint, the worst thing Eritrea could do is send actual troops, completely exposing the existence of the nation, only for the TDF to then make a deal with Abiy.
Ethiopian military today made more territorial gains in Southern Tigray. It launched two pronged attack towards #Alamata city from Chercher and Timuga. It entered Alamata city and advanced along Alamata-Mehoni road. If it fully controls Alamata city, Korem could also fall

Eritrea hardly has a relationship with the UAE now since, the UAE has opted to back the RSF and Eritrea backing SAF by aligning itself with the Saudis. So I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that Eritrea would compromise its sovereignty by accepting a strategically suicidal move in the name of “not upsetting the UAE.”
@Ethiomapping The idea that Eritrea would sit back and watch the ENDF push all the way into Tigray is laughable. That would be strategic suicide for Eritrea. It is likely that we see Abiy trying another pointless peace approach with the other factions in the hope of isolating the TPLF.
Another pseudo intellectual who thinks having an Ethiopian partner makes you an expert on the entire conflict. Blaming Eritrea for everything happening in Ethiopia is a lazy low IQ take its pure tunnel vision and plain dishonest.
Eritrea was destined to fail because of its Tigrinya population, who retain a strong affinity for Ethiopia and have repeatedly shown they are willing to die for it. Even the leadership spent the 1980s trying to save Ethiopia and after winning the war in the 1990s they still worked to keep Ethiopia intact.
You can hate Ethiopia as much as you want but I can’t imagine how a balkanized Ethiopia benefits anyone? The Horn of Africa is too politically interwoven for anyone to “sit back and watch” it’ll be a bunch of new states forming, borders being redrawn, and ofc causalities 😪
A tragedy destined to destroy innocent lives. When the dust settles, the only real winners will be the selfish politicians who shake hands and act as though nothing happened. Ordinary people are manipulated into hating and killing one another, ignoring the deep common ground that should unite them in peace. May the Lord intervene, bring peace and protect the innocent 🙏

I’ve been saying this for a while, we need systemic reform. Housing should be a basic human right, not an investment asset. It is even more sad to see the children of immigrants participating in this system because ironically, without social housing, their own parents would have fallen victim to this same exploitative rental market.
tying britain's wealth to property was one of the biggest mistakes we made. stop building homes and of course prices inflate. then we called the inflation "wealth" and spent 30 years protecting it.
so now we've got pensioners sitting in £600k semis on £12k a year, and 30 year olds on £80k who can't buy one. everyone's rich on paper and nobody's got any money.
the house you live in should never have been your primary investment asset. it's now people's inheritance, pension, wealth. but it was the easiest way for a country to feel rich without building anything.
