BREAKING: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 The US lost as many as 12 F-15E fighter jets with Iran — damaged and destroyed— according to Congressional report on US aircraft losses in operations against Iran
The F-15E count jumped from 4 destroyed to 12, adding another 8 from the Iranian strikes on Jordan.
Estimated replacement costs could reach $3.3bn
Seven months into the war with Iran, we’re only now seeing footage of something extraordinary: American troops abandoning a major U.S. military base after repeated Iranian attacks.
And the more you read about what happened, the more questions there are about how much of this war the American public actually understands.
CBS News has obtained and authenticated previously unseen footage showing Iranian missiles and drones striking Camp Buehring, a major American military installation in Kuwait that has served as a staging ground for U.S. operations throughout the Middle East for more than two decades.
Before the war began on February 28, approximately 7,000 American troops were stationed there. Anticipating Iranian retaliation, the Pentagon moved most of those troops out of vulnerable positions.
But more than 100 American service members remained behind.
What followed was a series of attacks that left the installation badly damaged, American soldiers sheltering in bunkers, and defenders running critically low on .50-caliber ammunition. Military officials also acknowledged concerns about the availability of Patriot missile defenses.
Three American service members told CBS that Iranian fighter jets attacked the installation, flying so low that soldiers could see the pilots’ helmets.
Eventually, the remaining Americans abandoned the base.
They gathered whatever equipment they could carry, loaded their vehicles, and drove through the night into the Kuwaiti desert, where they established temporary positions and remained for weeks. They were finally relocated in May.
No American service members were killed by enemy fire at Camp Buehring or those desert positions, although several were injured.
One soldier told CBS, “They hit us bad.”
Now consider the larger picture.
According to a Pentagon inspector general report, American equipment losses during the Iran war have reached as much as $3.7 BILLION, including nearly 60 aircraft.
A separate Congressional Research Service report identified 81 American aircraft and drones lost or damaged since February. These figures cover the entire conflict, not just Camp Buehring.
The inspector general also documented Iranian strikes against American installations in EIGHT countries: Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan.
And earlier this week, an Associated Press investigation revealed troubling details about the March 1 Iranian drone strike at Kuwait’s Port Shuaiba that killed six American soldiers and wounded dozens. Soldiers described warnings about inadequate defenses and serious problems obtaining medical care afterward.
These are separate incidents, but together they raise significant questions about American preparedness, the extent of the damage, and what the public has been told.
To be clear, moving troops away from vulnerable installations was a legitimate military precaution that likely saved American lives. But protecting sensitive military information is not the same thing as providing the public with an honest accounting of a war’s consequences.
We’re seven months into this conflict, and journalists are still uncovering major incidents from its opening weeks through footage and firsthand accounts from American service members.
When CBS asked about Camp Buehring, U.S. Central Command declined to comment. The Pentagon referred reporters to earlier explanations about repositioning troops.
That doesn’t answer every question about what happened to those who remained.
How extensive was the damage? Were American forces adequately defended? Why did the remaining troops have to abandon the installation? And what other major incidents have yet to receive a full public accounting?
The American people are paying for this war. American service members are risking their lives in it. They deserve to know the full scope of what is happening, including the setbacks, the losses, and the decisions that put our troops in danger.
This is great! A golden statue of a naked, rotund Trump goes on display in Strasbourg France! He is the laughingstock of the world! 🤡🤣😂 https://t.co/9AUvhG1PIs
Of course the pro-Russian Robert Kennedy has been funneling money to a Russian state program now responsible for releasing plague into the world, as their is no aspect of the Trump admin that doesn't serve Moscow in some way.
What Trump maybe wearing is something like a soft exoskeleton. The battery for which are normally located at the same place as the large bulk seen near the small of his back. He’s about a single degree of separation from a MAGA themed mobility scooter.
A naked, 23‑karat gold Donald Trump now stands inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The 2.5‑metre statue, titled “Orange Plague” / “King of Injustice” by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt, shows Trump holding an oversized gold golf club while sitting on the shoulders of a smaller man who is “sinking under the burden.”
Cards beside the work read:
“I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.”
Galschiøt says the piece targets Trump’s role in blocking global climate action.
The exhibition was hosted by Danish left‑wing MEP Per Clausen, who dismissed calls to avoid provoking Trump:
“First, we cannot accept living in fear and self‑censorship. Second, if someone is so thin‑skinned that they cannot handle this sculpture being exhibited in the European Parliament, then they have no business on the world stage.”
The statue is on view at a busy intersection between two parliament buildings until Thursday, 8 October 2026
Deters: "I have paid you $300,000 over the years. ... I need results."
Guilfoyle: "Stop papering all these things. It’s really dangerous. Just call me on Signal. ... if you write an email or a text about, l’m gonna kill you cause I love you but you’re so out of control"
🇳🇴🇺🇦 Sandra Andersen Eira left Norway and came to Ukraine just days after Russia launched its full-scale invasion.
A former Sámi Parliament politician and professional fisherman, she became a combat medic with Ukraine’s International Legion. She served near Bucha and Irpin.
Sandra later continued her service in Ukraine’s Marine Corps, serving alongside Ukrainian soldiers under Russian fire.
She saw their courage up close. She was wounded by Russian shelling and survived.
From the far north of Norway to the front lines of Ukraine,
She came as a foreign volunteer. She stood with Ukraine and stands with it even today
Awesome woman, respect 🫡❤️
As a Kennedy Center board member who has watched repeated apparent violations of the board’s fiduciary duty, I can understand why present management desperately wants to cover up their internal communications.
They have a lot to hide.

🚨🚨 BREAKING
The city of Elizabeth, Louisiana is about to elect Republican Christopher Paul as their police chief.
What’s the problem? Chris is out on bail right now for 2 counts of child rape.
Surprising literally no one, republicans are about to elect a child rapist
A 23 karat gold covered naked statue of Trump sitting on another man’s shoulders holding a golf club was unveiled inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg and it’s called the “Orange Plaque”and also known as the “King of Injustice”.
If they’re admitting 81 planes, drones and helicopters worth $3.3 billion have been lost, imagine what they’re not telling us. The real cost is far higher. Our grandchildren will be paying for this unnecessary war and his reckless spending.

Trump ordered the USDA to close the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) in Maryland, which houses the nation's oldest and most prominent bee research laboratory, and almost no one blinked an eye.
THIS MATTERS.
First, this is just one of the cuts to agricultural research funding he’s made, which, together, cost us $32 million. That’s like six Trump weekend golf vacations. If he wants to save money, he can start by cutting those.
Second, scientists JUST found that bee venom can kill cancer cells. MAGA loves to say we wouldn’t be able to say something nice about the current president “even if he cured cancer.” Well, now we’ll never know. Because, yet again, he cut funding for it.
And finally, the part everyone’s ignoring: he’s only president for 2.5 more years. In 2.5 years, someone who ACTUALLY loves America will win office and inherit a repair job. The brilliant people he fired will all have found new jobs, and we’ll have to find people to replace them.
The damage he’s doing will take a LONG time to undo.
