ID is one of my favorite game developers of all time. I wish nothing but the best for those who lost their jobs and those who remain. I sincerely hope they are able to continue making great games. ❤️
@AsagiKurosagi I can say as someone who has been playing since the beta that at least the optimization has gotten better haha
I was getting ~50fps and now I get around 90fps
@curatorgamingx Because ID Tech was an amazing engine, it looked great and had amazing optimization which UE5 just does not have
I don't see the remaining devs having to fight with UE5 being good for the state of the next game
@sufferingwave@gurauki@VinciLostSignal Since GIMP entered 3.0 updates have been coming steadily and it has improved greatly. They already added many non-destructive workflows as well as vector layers and "smart objects"
Actual shape tool finally in the foreseeable future
@SeaCritDev@Phantom_TheGame@BeanJuiceStudio@valvesoftware It does suck, but AI is detrimental to almost all aspects of life and creativity so it is understandable how it became so divisive so quick.
I hope we can reach a happy medium where AI can be used in a proper way as it is currently abused and unsustainable
@SeaCritDev@Phantom_TheGame@BeanJuiceStudio@valvesoftware If you read this additional reply, I mainly disagree with generative AI for art and assets. Code is more lenient. I would not like something entirely AI generated code wise, but if it is used as a proper aiding tool and not for general structure or features I think it is alright
@SeaCritDev@Phantom_TheGame@BeanJuiceStudio@valvesoftware You're extending so far, I didn't even say anything either direction, just that steam's policy is to disclose generative AI use.
My personal opinion does happen to be that I will not purchase, play, or use, any software, or game created using generative AI but I was being nuanced
@SeaCritDev@Phantom_TheGame@BeanJuiceStudio@valvesoftware You can use AI as long as you properly disclose it per steam's AI disclosure policy, so players can make an informed purchase.
Lying about it and ignoring steams policy is a bad look from users and could result in removal of the game altogether for violating policies.
@Dayiis_sd@HardwareSteam People are much more likely to have a 4k tv than a 4k monitor, and they aren't that expensive. Plugging into a tv is the main use case for the steam machine
@codeHusky Sometimes you can find a good deal, but even the laptop you showed averages about $1600 sold used
And a laptop is not functionally equivalent to what the steam machine offers so it's not a 1 to 1 comparison
If you want a laptop, then you get a laptop haha
