And the government wants us to believe this is an isolated lapse?
Look at the bigger picture.
PM CARES.
Created as a “public charitable trust.” Then suddenly declared a private entity. Kept outside RTI. Outside CAG audit. And now, by the PMO’s own direction, questions on it are not even allowed in Parliament.
A fund chaired by the Prime Minister, with senior ministers as trustees, that collected thousands of crores of public and CSR money during a national crisis… and the nation is told it cannot ask where the money went. Audited statements missing for years. Zero parliamentary accountability.
One is the tip of the iceberg. The other is the iceberg itself.
When institutions meant to serve the people are turned into black boxes, when faith and crisis are both monetised without transparency, and when even Parliament is told to look the other way — this is not governance. This is systematic opacity.
The wardrobe is overflowing. And every new skeleton only confirms what citizens already know: power without accountability always ends in the same place.
