It’s my favorite time of the year when students who didn’t do the super easy assigned work want to know if there’s extra credit they can do. Particularly fun is those I haven’t seen for weeks and want to pull that 48 to a B or so.
Literally nothing increases faculty morale like mandatory grounds beatification. So, now that I’ve paid to see a doctor and for medication after attending, I’ll be at my Monday morning, 8am class. #AcademicTwitter
Let’s talk about mandatory participation in campus beautification: why should I have to spend two hours putting out pine straw when it makes me sneeze and itchy? I’m allergic.
Does anyone use Slide Speak? I’m being required to “modernize” them because (direct quote) “a more modern background is engaging.” Apparently, a cool background that isn’t a standard option in Office will just stimulate leaning. @AcademicChatter
Update: dean sent updated information last night at 1037….abour five pages that I am supposed to read before our meeting. I have tos back to back classes from 8 til 1115 and we meet at 1130. But rest assured…those two 1 credit classes taught over thr last four years make her

I’ve decided that #HigherEd is basically middle school and the administration is just the mean girls and jocks trying to find ways to remind you that they are important and you are not. Students never remember the “great dean.” They remember the teacher…
