UPDATE: an individual has been removed from McCabe Hall. Police are leaving the scene and public safety says the situation has concluded.

BREAKING: Police responded to an issue involving a student at McCabe Hall earlier this afternoon and remain on the scene. According to public safety, there is no current threat to the community. Multiple sources say students currently inside are being asked to stay in place.

The Workers’ Rights Amendment will be on the top of the ballot during midterm elections. The amendment would protect workers’ rights to unionize.

City Council approved Lightfoot’s proposal to change the curfew for minors from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it now includes 17-year-olds

BREAKING: The Chicago City Council voted 30-19 to extend and expand the city’s teen curfew, ratifying Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s controversial response to a spate of downtown violence among young Chicagoans. @wttw

Lightfoot’s curfew in Millennium Park and ordinance changing the city-wide curfew from 11 to 10p.m. received backlash from Chicagoans. Crime is increasing, children are being gunned down in the streets, and Lightfoot’s solution is to implement a curfew.
