The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.
Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.
❗️🇺🇸🇯🇵 The White House confirms that SM-3 IIA, the United States' most sophisticated theater ballistic missile defense interceptor, will have its production quadrupled from 24 per year to 96 per year.
RTX had only specified an increase of 2x-4x, so we did not know exactly what the target was.
SM-3 is a joint program between the US & Japan.
The White House also announced "the two countries will scope Japan’s future role in increased AMRAAM production capacity".

(Also, none of my public television content contains ads — or anything commercial at all. That's the beauty of public television. The only time you'll see me promote my products on public television is when I offer them as pledge premiums...to support public television.)

@100YearsAgoLive The 1986 article in the International Journal of Middle East Studies opens with a quote from Dulles describing Imbrie as a personal friend, and so the original editor of the Wiki article might have assumed that Dulles was the second American present during the attack.
@100YearsAgoLive My assumption is this misconception was caused by a misreading of the sources — a second American, Melvin Seymour, was attacked alongside Imbrie.
