Got a parking charge of £60 for dropping off an elderly resident outside her flat in Tallow Road Brentford.
I’ve had my appeal rejected even though clearly not parked was clearly assisting a passenger
Never saw any signage explaining no parking on private land
Anyone got advice?
How the fuck is a return train to London £160 yet I can literally fly to another country return for half of that? Surely it costs more to maintain, fuel and fly a massive fucking airplane to another country than it costs to drive a train in a straight line for a couple of hours.
I genuinely don't understand UK holiday prices anymore.
You're asking me to pay over £900 to stay in a log cabin where the weather's a gamble, the nearest beach is an hour away, and I can still hear the motorway.
For less money, I could be lying by a pool in Spain with unlimited food and drinks.
How have we reached this point?
A UK family where both parents work full-time, pay full council tax, and earn enough to be 'doing alright' on paper, can't afford to take their kids to the Tower of London on a Saturday in 2026.
Two adult tickets and two child tickets at standard price comes to roughly £100. Add £40-£80 in train fares and £50-£70 for lunch — that's around £200 for a single Saturday at one tourist attraction in their own capital city.
A family on full Universal Credit, living in subsidised housing, paying no council tax, can take the same four people to the same Tower for £1 a ticket — £4 total — under the 'inclusive access' schemes most major UK attractions now run.
The working family pays the full £200 day out AND covers — through their taxes — the £196 discount the benefits family gets on the same trip.
Whatever the original intention of those schemes, this is the structure most UK working families are now living inside. Pay the full bill, then watch the people next door enjoy the day out you can't take your own kids to.
You're lucky if you get an Ice cream . Well our ice maker had been broken for over two years , got removed and will NOT be replaced ever , because they don't have the money. Better for them to bin perfectly good bread and milk, because it's nearly the use by date . Fuck the NHS.
This heat wave in the UK is genuinely dangerous. My elderly father has fallen ill with it while in the hospital. The @NHS should install ACs in all hospitals, at least in elderly wards.
🚨 BREAKING:
England’s team equipment has been stolen including players’ boots/shoes, training gear, coaching staff equipment, balls and uniforms.
The England camp is now working with police to find the stolen items or replace them quickly so the team can train as planned.

My parents, both pensioners, were charged £850 by an emergency plumber last night.
They have British Gas HomeCare, but they couldn’t get anyone out to them quickly enough. Their toilet was overflowing and starting to flood the house, so they called an emergency plumber.
They have another toilet, so the immediate emergency was the flooding. The water could potentially have been isolated and a quote provided before any repair work was carried out.
Instead, the work was done immediately and they were charged £850.
My dad was also sent a series of text messages he had to respond to during the emergency. As far as I could tell, they didn’t appear to contain any obvious company branding, address or identifying information.
Fuming on their behalf. Can’t help feeling they’ve been taken advantage of.
Is this normal practice? And if not, is there anything we can do about it now?
OK OK, forget what I said a few days ago - and a couple of days before that. THIS is the absolute worst photo of Trump ever taken.
Under no circumstances should this be retweeted. Fuckface would be devastated to see it everywhere.
