Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra expresses serious concern over reports from Akole (Ahilyanagar) where, as alleged by MLA Dr. Kiran Lahamate, tribal students in some reputed schools were reportedly made to sit separately from other students, reflecting a deeply troubling form of discrimination in the education system.

Such practices, if true, strike at the very foundation of our Constitution, which is built on equality, fraternity, and social justice. Schools are meant to be spaces that nurture dignity and inclusiveness. Students should never be subjected to segregation or treated as inferior based on their social background.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra strongly supports the demand for a thorough and time-bound inquiry, and if these allegations are proven, strict action must be taken against those responsible. The call to review the role of school authorities and ensure accountability of the education system is both necessary and urgent. We stand firmly for the rights and dignity of Adivasi, Dalit, and all marginalized communities, and believe that ensuring equal access to education with respect and dignity is a collective responsibility of both the state and society.

Islam firmly upholds the equality and dignity of all human beings.
The Qur’an declares:
“O mankind, We created you from a single pair… and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most honoured in the sight of Allah is the most righteous”
(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13).

Any form of discrimination or humiliation is against the spirit of justice and human dignity that Islam strongly upholds.
