Before we get into making a safe examination system, @NandanNilekani must examine the need for any entrance exam. Most exams are territorial power centres and business opportunities.
Take for example CUET. It is the most unnecessary examination Imposed on the hapless Delhi students that made the CBSE scores useless and killed school education. This was done to neutralise the AAP investment in government schools a waste. These kids cannot afford private coaching and a state topper is also denied a seat.
Similarly, NEET is useless for those who want to join a private medical college. The price differential (5 lacs and 1.5 crores) is so huge that at rank 30,000 all government colleges close their admission while even at rank 13 lac, private colleges are unable to fill seats. Private colleges are reserved for the rich 1% of India. If you indeed fighting against reservation and for meritocracy, shouldn’t you include this?
The TET, even JEE advanced, UGC NET etc can be modified to make it a test for those who don’t cross a certain level of education.
We must reduce the entrance exams. We must reduce the number of students who should take the exam. Increase the eligibility. For Ex: Make 80% in boards a qualification to get into all India institutions like AIIIMS, IITs etc. Make school education mandatory. Punish those in dummy schools. Hedge. De-risk. Spread.
Make sure that a 3 hour exam doesn’t become the life altering exam. It will reduce stress. Reduce suicides. The business of entrance exams has to be reformed before we reform the conduct of such exams.
This is not how paper leaking works. The coaching centers buy the leaked paper. They dont then just pass it on to students saying "hey here is the leaked paper - enjoy!"
The coaching center has a "last minute revision" session. Their top students are segregated separately. The students are bright and will get very high scores anyway. They are now asked to practice 200 "mock" questions. 50 of these are leaked questions. If a bright kid has seen a question, he/she will remember it and get a huge advantage in an exam. They largely dont know they are being fed leaked questions.
A bright kid who may have got 690 marks anyway will now get 710 marks because he/she has seen a few questions before. He/she most likely did not know it was being fed - they were not in on the conspiracy.
Smart coaching institute owners wont leak questions to dumb students. In fact this is why it blew up this time - some coaching center got too greedy.
My daughter took a drop year to give a shot at #NEET. After 1 year of extreme mental stress, sleepless nights she wrote the exam on May 3. She scored well, and had a chance of a seat in the later rounds. The news of #NeetLeak devastated her and she refused to write again 1/n
The Gham of life coupled with a lot of alcohol catches up. The primary factor isn’t physical health alone ,it is coupled with a deep dissatisfaction with life and loneliness takes a toll and the bill becomes due. Love & god are necessary for existence as one learns while they age
the best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your surface area for luck to hit you. go outside, try new cafes, museums, events, take a new route home, speak to people, ask questions, side quest. the more you do, the more serendipity and synchronicity will find you.
LOVE THIS!
5 years back, got an email from a 12th grade student in Kol.
He was shattered that he didn't get through SRCC - his dream college.
His email ended with this:
Now this is haunting me. All i see is my dream college and then I realize i wont reach there. I will have to settle for something less when I worked so hard. While others werr binge watching webseries, i was studying. Is that how you get rewarded for your hard work?
I replied
I feel you, <his name>.
I felt the same when I scored poorly in my 12th despite working really hard.
And it all seemed such a waste.
I left my life was over.
Guess what - life isn't over.
I realized that the college I go to could not have defined my worth.
A 94% is excellent and you will still get through really good colleges - make the most of that!
A few years down the line - you will be laughing at all of this :)
He sent me an email today💪🥳
@khuchrep@AmitShah@vijaysharmacg Jab paper leak ho toh education minister ka istefa mango. Jab law and order me leak ho toh grih mantri ka istifa kyu nahi mange?
@khuchrep@AmitShah This news is everywhere - thanks to social media. wondering why @vijaysharmacg hasn’t taken any action yet. Pressure from the babus?
Those drifting dots you can never quite look at directly are shadows. The objects casting them sit inside your own eye.
The vitreous is the gel that fills most of your eyeball, roughly 99% water held together by a fine mesh of collagen fibers. Light passes straight through it on the way to your retina. As you age, the gel liquefies and those fibers lose their even spacing and clump into strands and knots.
When light hits a clump, it drops a tiny shadow on the retina behind it. That shadow is the floater. What you perceive is the dark spot it casts on your own light sensor, one cell layer deep.
This is why you can never catch one. The clump is suspended in liquid a few millimeters in front of the retina, so it tracks your eye instead of holding still. Look up and it drifts up with you, then settles a beat later as the fluid stops moving. Chasing it is chasing your own shadow.
It's also why they only appear against a blank wall or a bright sky. A uniform bright background is the one lighting condition where a faint shadow on your retina has enough contrast to register. Any busy scene drowns it out completely.
The part that gets people: this is chemically guaranteed. Your vitreous contains riboflavin, and decades of light passing through it slowly oxidizes the collagen bonds until the mesh degrades. Given enough years it happens to everyone, no exceptions.
70% see them because the other 30% just haven't noticed the shadows their own eyes have been casting the whole time.
An actual, CERT-in Empanelled Auditor gave a Security Clearance, in WA/PT to Coempt's OneX platform for BPUT. As per HT report.
It took tirth a single endpoint to change the master password. Full Admin Access.
India is in danger, from CERT-in's incompetence.
@ColAmitkumar If anything, the CM/HM will announce a suspension, officer will be attached to HQ for a while, public attention move on, a few years later he’ll find his way back to a comfortable posting closer to home. A lot of outrage, a lot of commentary, much ado about nothing.
@ColAmitkumar Does the army make people this detached from reality? Genuine question. Fast-track court trial is a funny expectation. The govt and SP first grant sanction, the bureaucracy stops protecting its own, and everyone develops a sudden passion for accountability. Any other fairy tales?
@ColAmitkumar cognisance by a magistrate? This is Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, not a Netflix legal drama. The system here is staffed by inefficient buffoons. They are barely doing what’s required to keep functioning - the minimum req to continue in the job.
