The party is surging in membership and donations, and is ready to unleash a lot of candidates that will attract substantial amounts of votes.

If the Conservatives think they can ignore OneBC, it's at their own peril, but it could end up being the province that pays the price.

The Conservatives have thrown away the grassroots. They can isolate them in the petri dish that is OneBC, make a deal, and it will be a net gain in the number of seats.

If you still don't believe me, go and ask @yuri_fulmer for his math on the back of a napkin... (They've apparently already told Yuri to go and fly a kite as far as being a candidate is concerned... Another bad move! Yuri had more support than Milobar.)

Well, maybe a little bit more than just roll with it, LOL. Younger candidates need to learn from more experienced candidates.

Flip side of that coin is I am surprised how much influence some of the young poli-sci people have on the political parties - I would say too much actually - in general. Great case in point - the shit storm that was the OneBC meltdown in December of 2025. That was retarded.

No party is perfect, good heavens. I've joined OneBC again, and they will probably botch something. So many bloody moving pieces in a snap election, especially for a new party.

I don't expect perfect.

I just didn't expect and definitely will not tolerate what the BC Conservatives have just done. It doesn't mean all of them are bad, but the structure at the core is absolutely faulty, and I would say it is terminal at this point.

Is anyone actually surprised by the anger out there? It’s not like it appeared out of nowhere. People have been disparaged and pushed aside by the elected representatives who are supposed to represent them. Public institutions and officials are not listening, and public trust is broken.

Some are saying that holding a referendum is causing division and hate. Not only is that nonsense, but saying so pits neighbours against neighbours and families against families, instead of recognizing a referendum for what it is: a way for citizens to have a direct say.

Meanwhile, billions in public money have been spent with questions about accountability still unanswered. Businesses were forcibly shut down, people lost their livelihoods, and many are still living with the consequences. People were coerced by their own government and shamed by their neighbours. Are we supposed to ignore all of that and then wonder why people are angry? Are we serious?

To all the “leaders” out there: it’s time to look in the mirror and recognize how your own actions have contributed to the anger and loss of trust. Listen to people. Answer the hard questions. Have the conversations you have been avoiding.

There are only two ways to lead: divide and conquer, or build and unite.
