Twitter is not a social media which i would normally engage in, especially on the topic of Education and Sustainability! But since using it, it has significantly opened my eyes up to seeing how effective it can be, and will definitely be using it more in the future!

Such a great initiative from Quantas! With the plates/bowls created from sugar cane to the utensils made from sugar starch! Nothing from the flight will go into landfill, and overall helping our become more sustainable! How cool!
A great article which can be shown to kids giving them tips & tricks on how to reduce plastic waste throughout our oceans! Such a great initiative by the Marine Conservation Organisation!

@Lindle98192700 @ABCEducationAU Such a great initiative which can be used not only for informative purposes in the classroom, but also to promote inclusivity throughout schools!
@GuyWalters10 Disgusting images! Such a shame that animals have to live like this! There are many initiatives such as @Clean_Up which have a primary focus in recycling plastic and keeping out environments clean and healthy!
@BradleyMcdean Likewise! I feel like my future classroom with be highly sustainable and filled with activities focused on recycling and maintaining the earth!
@MaxwellKayley Exactly! Would be a great way to implement home learning with classroom learning, by making students take home their coffee-cup plant and growing it at home!
Our class is collecting takeaway coffee cups to reuse them for practical purposes. These little plants will definitely add some life to your classroom 🌿 #UoNTeach#cupcycle#recycleatschool
Prior to learning about recycling and waste management, I would without a doubt use 1 plastic straw a day. But since researching this topic, my eyes have been opened to how bad plastic is for the world! Plastic straws are everywhere, and we shouldn’t be using them!

@KateLinnane Such a great way to reduce the use of single use plastic bags, and those bags look like a great sturdy alternative to carry your groceries in whilst looking after the environment!
@KateLinnane You make a great point Kate! A bucket at the door would be much more appropriate for maintaining a sustainable environment, where as using one bag per umbrella would increase plastic use, and potentially increase plastic which doesn’t get recycled and ends up in our water ways.
The new Parley x Adidas UltraBOOST collaboration is a newly designed shoe from @adidas which is made completely from recycled ocean plastic waste! Amazing to see big companies like adidas really promoting recycling and positive sustainability for our earth!

@KateLinnane Such a great way to reduce the use of single use plastic bottles, maybe these could be trialled throughout school canteens to see if it can reduce plastic waste throughout schools as well!
@reidem6 Such a great way of looking at it. Although there are many perspectives of environmental sustainability, we are often quick to jump to the negatives, but would be interesting to look at the positives and have a look at the students perspectives.
@MaxwellKayley Definitely something to be thought about, as it massively decreased plastic around the playground but understandable why parents were angry. Maybe schools can implant reward systems for classes who can recycle the most plastic, which may have the same effect and reduce waste.
What a great initiative by the UN and one that should be taken on by more people! If you can't re-use the item, then refuse it! It also offers some great examples such as using your own coffee mug or re-using lunch bags!

@porcovich Such a great initiative! The school could also take a step further and create a school garden for students to plant them in and learn even more about the environment!
