The lives of Palestinians are apparently worth 2.2 million dollars to Halifax, which is the economic benefit Tennis Canada claims for the match with Israel. Cheap PR for genocide.
In a pathetic display of cowardice, the interim president of Georgetown caved to demands to oust and silence Prof. @JonathanACBrown for his foreign policy commentary, which is protected by the First Amendment.
@ggreenwald on the embarrassing spectacle:
Alhamdulillah yet another victory for our EPIC masjid @epicmasjid !
The Governor falsely accused the masjid of operating as a funeral home and shut down janazahs - of course every masjid prays over the deceased and performs some religious rites. That is not 'operating a funeral home'.
After being unable to perform janaah prayers for months, EPIC is now able to resume it's duties.
Two points to make here: firstly, the depths of Islamophobia and Muslim-hatred are quite clear. The lies, slander, mischaracterizations, and sheer hate-mongering are obvious. For a public official and political leader to stoop so low to publicly and without any trial mention our masjid by name, accuse it of a 'crime' (which was to deliver the religious rites on a deceased body before burial) and to then stop the janazah prayer, really is a deplorable act.
But secondly, in spite of the climate of fear and hate, justice and fairness still exists in many aspects of our society. Factually speaking, if a president or governor or powerful politician wanted to do something in many other countries in the world, the judiciary would not stand in their way, nor would they even have the power to overrule a politician's decision. It is a testament to the judiciary system of our country that this is not the case in America.
Alḥamdulliah, another win for EPIC!
PSAC joins Canada’s unions urging PM Mark Carney to formally recognize the State of Palestine, oppose the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank, demand a permanent ceasefire, & allow unimpeded access to humanitarian aid to civilians.

NYU University Gallatin Student Chair Logan Rozo,
"I've been freaking out a lot about this speech, honestly, and as I search my heart today in addressing you, all my moral and political commitments guide me to say that the only thing that is appropriate to say in this time and to a group this large um is a recognition of the atrocities currently happening in Palestine"
"I want to say that the genocide currently occurring is supported politically and militarily by the United States, is paid for by our tax dollars, and has been live streamed to our phones for the past 18 months"
"And that I do not wish to speak only to my own politics today, but speak for all people of conscience, all people who feel the moral injury of this atrocity"
"And I want to say that I condemn this genocide and complicity in this genocide"
"Thank you to the class of 2025 and congratulations"
Modi is the twin devil of Netanyahu.
India under a fascist regime clearly wants to take advantage of a world that can’t stop even the most obvious genocide ever.
May Allah protect Pakistan, and the innocent people of the world at the mercy of small tyrants with big weapons.
India striking multiple sites in Pakistan is a sign of how unhinged the country has become, following Israel’s flagrant contempt for international law and diplomacy. To date they have provided zero evidence to substantiate their wild claims making them a rogue actor.
The tiny bodies of children in Gaza, hollowed out by induced starvation, are testimony of the worst humanity is capable of.
It is time to impose an arms embargo and sanctions on Israel, and urgently deploy a protection presence made of friendly soldiers (not from states who have supported the genocide).
It is time for the UNGA to act under "Uniting for Peace" resolution.
a Zionist fanatic at the Oxford Union angrily asks George Galloway if he is racist because of his opposition to the genocidal Israeli death-cult, and is applauded by the audience. Here's Galloway's response that gets the audience to applaud him by the end:
Israel has the obligation to WITHDRAW totally/unconditionally from Gaza/the oPt. Third states have the obligation not to aid and assist Israel's unlawful conduct, lest being COMPLICIT. If most of the 191 UN members seriously opposed this lawlessness, multilateralism would survive.
Over a year ago we were already seeing horrendous conditions of forced starvation and severe malnutrition in children in Gaza. The current situation in Gaza is nothing short of a holocaust committed by Israel and its allies.
Labour for Palestine calls on the @cupenat National Executive Board to reverse its call for @CUPEOntario President Fred Hahn’s resignation and urges them, and others within the labour movement, not to cave to zionist pressure. #StandWithFredHahn https://t.co/68s9lTPFFx
Calling in police enforcement on nonviolent demonstrations of young students on campus is an escalatory, reckless, and dangerous act.
It represents a heinous failure of leadership that puts people’s lives at risk. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.
