@DnDSesame I imagine this isn’t him being malevolent. Sweetums was offered a chance to come along during The Hobbit, and he is just now making it to the Shire. “Bagginsssssss….”
@Son_of_Phi @JeremyECrawford Part of the difference is that reach isn’t so much the area you can attack as the area you can control. A bugbear PC can attack at 10 ft, but can’t extend their arms for an entire turn. Same with the spell, you can’t constantly be casting it so it’s normal reach.
@Son_of_Phi @JeremyECrawford You are correct that reach and range are not the same thing. Range is a function of spells or ranged attacks, dictating the distance they can effectively work. Reach is the area one threatens with melee.
@King_K66 @snickelsox Part of it is that 5e is… swingy. Bounded accuracy means RNG plays a big chunk out of things. Like in our campaign finale, the Samurai was potentially doing upwards of 150 damage a turn… or he could do nothing. The difference between a TPK and an easy fight can be thin.
@MoseyDm Because of their cultural tendencies toward mining and smithing, and the need to keep a steady pace, one of the great musical traditions of the dwarves is junk percussion. It is now a common feature of clan gatherings, as they bond over harmonious rhythms.
@Alderdoodle So that’s a pyromaniac artificer robot whose primary actions have been related to rescuing powered children from their exploiters into a happy orphanage. As a BBEG, he becomes a well-intentioned extremist seeking to end warfare and child misery... by any means necessary.
@OsteriaTristan@AdamKinzinger First the armorer and co. Armorer was sent home, so whoever chose to film that scene should be next on the chopping block. It’s like having someone who is in charge of making stunts safe, and then someone deciding to do those stunts when they aren’t available!
@DonWaifu@Cupot2@reedgalen In DC, the statute of limitations for all misdemeanors is 3 years, so the time to let bygones be bygones isn’t for at least another 27 months. And for felonies, that goes out to 6 years.
@zachsilberberg For me, it was easily the Ark opening in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Seeing the face melting made me hold back from watching those movies for more than a decade.
@ellaarcherr@deadeyebrakeman Even in a shooting war, the nature of war has changed such that drafted forces are far less necessary. It doesn’t make sense to throw millions of people at a problem when it can be done better by a small cadre of experts operating billions worth of equipment.
@pangalactic While the curse itself was potentially problematic, I really liked how it was handled in a Pathfinder module. An NPC used one to change sex to infiltrate the Grey Maidens. But after spending time undercover, she ended up IDing more as a woman and stayed. Positivity!!
In particular what made me think of this is a creature with an extradimensional body part. If I’ve got a snake which can eat and spew out larger objects because of its extradimensional gullet, would it trigger the Astral Plane effect of the Bag of Holding?
Is a horse an “item”? I know it wouldn’t be an object, but it’s part of the results for a “Robe of Useful Items”, we have the Vox Seeker that’s an item and a creature, and so it makes me wonder. @JeremyECrawford#5e
@C4rdninj4 @DungeonFacts Reminds me of a RWBY quote:
“I assure you, I’ve been in my fair share of tussles.”
“Like the mushroom?”
“Those are truffles.”
“Like the sprout?”
“Those are Brussel.”
