#COP29: It’s a joke: too low, too long: Climate Action Network response to latest climate finance goal text.
No deal is better than a bad deal.

As #COP29 draws to a close, even as we wrestle with securing a meaningful outcome document on critical issues like #JustTransition, I want to extend my deepest thanks to all the comrades from trade unions around the world at the climate talks. Your militant spirit, unwavering resolve and tenacious negotiating efforts have been nothing short of inspirational.
It’s been particularly heartening to witness the camaraderie and strategic brilliance that have defined this collective fight for just transition and climate justice. Seeing comrades from #Canada 🇨🇦 and #Somalia 🇸🇴 joining forces, comparing notes, plotting strategic pushbacks and standing shoulder to shoulder in this battle for a fairer, greener future - well, that’s the kind of solidarity that makes you believe in the power of trade unionism to change the world.
Who would have thought that maple syrup and camel milk could come together so effectively in the trenches of climate negotiations? But in Baku we were, defying all odds, showing the world that when the organised labour stands firm, even the harshest naysayers and most complex challenges can be confronted head-on.
So let’s keep up the fight, comrades. The road to just transition may be steep, but with wit, grit and a touch of union determination, we’ll keep pushing until the world has no choice but to listen. Solidarity forever!
A few days ago the Alberta gov called my colleagues and I a bunch of « eco-radicals » for asking 🇨🇦 to regulate the country’s largest polluters - oil and gas companies.🧢
I don't have 7 million in taxpayer dollars for a PR campaign. But what I do have are some facts. 👇 #cdnpoli
🗣️"Workers ask governments to urgently make progress with climate policies delivering #SocialJustice through a #JustTransition with the workers." @BertDeWel@ITUC participated in the #preCOP in Baku, the last step to #COP29 in Azerbaijan.

@economie_quebec@EnvironnementQc Decisions on the use of Quebec’s energy impact my household and my purchasing power. I would like to see a public consultation led by the @BAPE_Quebec.
