'Workers' perception of the labor market' is a dubious construct, esp in analyzing short-term trends. Identifying general perceptual conditions ("doomerism") is risky, riskier when folded without reflection (systematically) into chains of supposition underpinning analysis.
In Tuesday’s newsletter, I wrote about a potential gap emerging between worker perceptions of the labor market (horrendous) and the actual labor market (not terrible, possibly improving).
Woke extreme left and extreme right have in common an incapacity for pluralism. I never use the word fascist lightly, but I think the left in this country is becoming more like it than the right
