Hey @TeamYouTube, your automated system is completely broken for international expats. I live and work permanently in Abu Dhabi, but your system is blocking me from upgrading to Premium, claiming it "canโt verify my country." I need a human to look at this false flag.
Support told me to just "wait for the system to fix itself," which is useless. I have my UAE ID and utility bills to prove my residency 100% legally. Can a manager please DM me so a human can manually verify this? If YouTube won't take my money, I am forced to use Spotify.
My life is split between 3 places: I live in the UAE, Iโm from Azerbaijan, and my family is in Germany. Because I travel constantly between these countries and deal with strict local network configurations required for international calls here, your system is totally confused.
Ibn Khaldun (1132-1406) was indeed a giant. Working alone, he anticipated many ideas of the European Enlightenment. Also noteworthy: he had no followers in the Arab World or the broader Muslim World. No โKhaldunianโ school emerged. Thatโs a key reason why heโs under-appreciated.
@lexfridman Building bridges? You are big disappointment man. I really respected you very much. But more days past you became more spineless in the name of love and bridge makingโฆ really sad. You really let us down. Not because of zelensky topic only.
The issue is that our minds struggle to handle complex, continuous situations, especially when multiple factors interact across different areas. We prefer simple choices because they save us from having to think too much. Our own limitations constantly put knowledge at risk.
I was happy to see Vincent Van Gogh featured in this thread! Here's a quote where he connects summer and hope:
"Many people seem to think it foolish, even superstitious, to believe that the world could still change for the better. And it is true that in winter it is sometimes so bitingly cold that one is tempted to say, 'What do I care if there is a summer; its warmth is no help to me now.' Yes, evil often seems to surpass good. But then, in spite of us, and without our permission, there comes at last an end to the bitter frosts. One morning the wind turns, and there is a thaw. And so I must still have hope."
