I am incredibly honoured to have been awarded the SFIAR group prize this week. While I was unable to join in person it was great to present my PhD project's findings to so many great scholars and industry representatives working on tropical agriculture in Switzerland!!
SFIAR Award Ceremony "Producing food without consuming forests: how to reduce #deforestation in #Amazonia" with interesting inputs by @ruthdelzeit@samlevyforest Lorenz Allemann @KathrinAmacker @FeCammelli. View presentations and photos: https://t.co/Dav6ULNdQ4
📢 The AFi has endorsed the US FOREST Act. If signed into law, the act would restrict the import of products linked to illegal deforestation. Learn more about the act and why it’s important: https://t.co/lKta2HgOKa
I am so glad that @sfiar has a team award, because my PhD was truly a team effort. The input, advice & support of Matthieu Stigler, @FeCammelli, @erasmuszu, @vivihrbr, Anna Garik, Holly Gibbs & Jake Munger of @GLUELab1, and especially my advisor @rach_garr made this work possible
Very happy to share that my PhD project won the 2023 @sfiar team award! In this project we mapped the coverage and extent of zero-deforestation supply chain commitments (ZDCs) in Brazil + identified & quantified these policies' impacts and limitations 🧵
My co-authors & I also studied the political narratives hindering zero-deforestation policies + quantified the impacts of implementation & adoption gaps in Brazilian ZDCs.🤞these will be published soon! Until then initial results are available in my thesis https://t.co/JYXpBYTZ7L
