@HartWexford Historians like to describe the lead-up to fascism as involving a concentrated crack-down on satire, but there’s not a lot of evidence for this. Sure, lots of people become dobbers and the consequences become harsher, but it’s also much more difficult to mock ridiculous regimes.
@jathansadowski These authors chop and change a bit between saying certain terms (‘sharing economy’, etc.) are not fit-for-purpose and then using them anyway, but it’s worth a look just for how casual/part-time/full-time workers view Uber differently.
Translation: We offer them ‘microloans’ that must be spent on sewing machines to make goods for people in their community who have no money to buy said goods. It’s a perfect system!
