Remember the Holocaust. Never forget how it came to be: little by little...hateful rhetoric, fear-mongering, visible designations of discrimination, radically inhumane nationalism, white supremacy...all festering until reality reflected rhetoric, until... #HolocaustMemorialDay
@philvischer@C_Stroop@ToWit12@JohnFea1@JemarTisby@kkdumez I think abusers count on that attitude. The content of kid's christian entertainment can be good but the Falwell types use it as a spearhead into kids lives. Then it's "You can trust us, we carry VT" or "Time to grow up from VT and be the kind of Christian we actually want."
For a whole host of reasons, Black women have not requested that Harriet Tubman be placed on the $20. It was shouted from hilltops that we saved democracy- and *this* is the response🤨 Keep the 20 as it is and cancel some debt, expand medical coverage, raise minimum wage...
If what happened on January 6 was led by Arab Christian Americans, Muslim Americans, or South Asian Americans, there would be non-stop chatter about radical terrorism & how we need to close off our borders.
Shows how white supremacy & Christian nationalism are assumed “safe.”
"As practices of commercialism have created new evangelical markets, those markets have conjured new evangelical publics. Today, at least, we know these publics as “evangelicalism,” the commercial religion of our time."

Somehow we weathered and witnessed
A nation that isn't broken
but simply unfinished
There is always light
if only we're brave enough to see it
if only we're brave enough to be it.
— Amanda Gorman
It always feel like white America celebrates MLK Day with some arbitrary quote and then ignore the fact that he was assassinated for speaking out on the very things they condemn Kaepernick, LeBron, Abrams, Ta-Nehisi, Jemele Hill, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida and others for today.
