There is a need to enhance institutional capacities for resilient recovery and disaster preparedness in view of the increasing damages caused by the impacts of #ClimateChange.

Under the Government of Germany 🇩🇪 and @KfW_Islamabad-supported Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme, #UNDPinPakistan in cooperation with @PlanComPakistan trained nearly 100 government officials in Karachi and Quetta 🇵🇰 on climate finance, resilient infrastructure, GIS mapping, flood hazard assessment, and hydraulic and hydrological modelling.

The trainings strengthened technical capacities for evidence-based planning and disaster risk management, helping connect recovery planning, policy, and implementation to support climate-resilient reconstruction and locally led adaptation in flood-affected areas.

#UNDPinPakistan, in partnership with @millimaninsight, concluded a two-day training on Pension Management and Oversight for colleagues from the @SECPakistan on 15–16 December 2025, delivered by Mr. @adrian_allott.

📘 The training was delivered under the UNDP–Milliman Global Actuarial Initiative (GAIN), which supports the strengthening of actuarial and supervisory capacities across 20 countries, including Pakistan.

🤝 In the closing session, Commissioners Mr. Zeeshan Khatak and Mr. Muzaffar Mirza recognized UNDP’s support to the insurance sector through capacity development, technical assistance, and the Insurance Innovation Challenge. Mr. Shiraz Shah, ARR UNDP, acknowledged SECP’s continued leadership in advancing risk-informed and inclusive financial systems.

🚀 National Inclusive Insurance Training Module III wrapped up!

#UNDPinPakistan’s Insurance & Risk Finance Facility — supported by @BMZ_Bund — completed Module III of the National Inclusive Insurance Training Programme in partnership with @ifmpofficial on 10th and 11th December 2025, Karachi.

Expert sessions were delivered by Mr. Nasar us Samad Qureshi, Chief Executive Officer, 5th Pillar Takaful, and Mr. Michael McCord, Managing Director, Microinsurance Centre at Milliman, focusing on customer-centric marketing and effective claims management.

Led by Master Trainer Jochen Ramcke (GIZ), the training equipped 54 insurance practitioners with practical tools to advance inclusive insurance in Pakistan.
