Arunachal is a frontier state. It was one of the first ones in the region to cooperate with the Indian state after independence with minimal conflict. They're even more patriotic than most Indian states.
Not that I really care about measuring patriotism nor demand it, but just saying for some people out there.
Ideological separatists from other states are already working hard to turn Arunachali youngsters away from the 'Indic fold'.
Then you lot go ahead & insinuate them abuse them, they'll land sweetly in the hands of separatist minds in the upcoming generation.
The younger generation might not pick up guns like their forefathers, but a state which was very cordial might end up ideologically resentful.
Think before you get triggered/baited/agitated on the internet!
This is why I hated the decision of Namit and Nitesh to take AR Rahman to compose music for Ramayana
He bought Urdu music into CHHAVA and destroyed the movie or else it would have become the biggest blockbuster movie
And even after getting so much trolled for it, he couldn’t stop bringing Sufi music into Ramayana
I donno how director accepted this
"Jo mila, woh hazam" — Prime Minister ji, the middle class has digested far more than it was given.
The PM's remark on the ₹12 lakh tax-free income has started a big debate on Twitter. Here are the numbers behind the slogan.
🔹 The old-regime basic exemption is still ₹2.5 lakh, exactly where it was in July 2014. Indexed by the government's own Cost Inflation Index (240 in 2014-15 → 384 in 2026-27), it should be ₹4 lakh.
🔹 80C is still ₹1.5 lakh after 12 years. Indexed, it should be ₹2.4 lakh. Meanwhile, PF, LIC, PPF and children's tuition fees have all become costlier.
🔹 Home loan interest u/s 24(b) is still ₹2 lakh. Indexed, it should be ₹3.2 lakh, while home prices and EMIs have multiplied.
🔹 80TTA on savings interest is still ₹10,000.
🔹 The cess went up from 3% to 4%.
🔹 ₹12 lakh is not a slab. It is a rebate. The real basic exemption in the new regime is just ₹4 lakh. Earn ₹1 above the limit and tax starts from ₹4 lakh upward. The "tax-free" label holds only as long as you stay below the line.
🔹 The new regime punishes savers. No tax benefit for PPF, life insurance, a home loan or health cover. The middle class is told to spend, not save, and to fund its own security without any support.
The math: in 2014, using honest deductions, a person could earn about ₹6.65 lakh tax-free. Old-regime limits were left frozen for 12 years, so inflation silently ate away their value year after year.
Then a single headline number was announced as a gift.
This is not relief. It is a refund of 12 years of inflation tax, packaged as generosity, while the incentive to save was taken away.
The middle class doesn't need reminders of what it "got". It needs indexed limits, every year, by law, the same way capital gains are indexed.
Hazam humne nahi kiya. Hazam inflation ne kiya.
Went to Fort in Mumbai recently and noticed just how many fashion labels have stores there. One boutique after another, some with really pretty spaces. And I’m guessing the rents aren’t cheap either.
Who actually shops at these places? Do people travel all the way to Fort for a particular label, or do they just walk in and discover them? And what makes these brands so different?
Genuinely curious because there seem to be so many of them, and I know very little about this side of Mumbai’s fashion scene.
Just look at this guy, and you will know how these incompetent babus have spawned hostility against India out of nowhere.
Piyush Goyal has a bizarre knack for dropping unsolicited, provocative remarks out of his big mouth, dragging unnecessary backlash and anger upon India.
When Trump launched his trade war against China, India could have easily just enjoyed the windfall in silence.
But Mr. Goyal just couldn't help himself—he had to come out and give the most explicit expressions of schadenfreude.
So, when Trump turned around and hammered India too, he looked every bit like a fool.
Now, as Europe places greater emphasis on industrial revival, Goyal has again felt compelled to mock the Netherlands.
It’s entirely indecent, incredibly foolish, and puts Indian businesses, capital, and diaspora at serious risk.
There is an American tech YouTuber called Jerry Rigs Everything. Most of his videos are about him taking apart devices, understanding how they work etc.
He has 10.2 million subscribers
In 2005 his wife had a horse riding accident as a result of which she was paralyzed waist down. She now required a wheel chair to move about
All high quality outdoor wheelchairs that he tested costed upwards of $20,000
Considering he was a tech Youtuber with some fame he could have simply called one company to get one for free.
He didn't do that
Like he does on his channel, he took apart a wheelchair, understood its components and then built one on his own
He then decided to sell them in public for $999. He called it the Paradox
Thanks to him, most of us can have access to high mobility, all terrain wheelchairs.
This is what tech Youtubers abroad do. They actually make a difference
Meanwhile Our guys haven't yet gone past, "Arre Bhai, Yeh dekho Apple ka agla amazing phone, Isme aapko milta hai 3 camera aur ek screen. See how I am drooling on this packaging and colour" with some pathetically click baity thumbnails
Storm Boelo is battering Scotland and northern England, with more than 40,000 homes and businesses reported without power.
But behind every number is somebody’s home, livelihood or business.
This is Largs, where severe flooding has hit shops in the town. Geraldo’s has shared footage showing the damage, with the owner clearly devastated by what has happened to her shop and neighbouring businesses.
More than 23,000 SSEN customers remain without power, while Northern Powergrid reports outages affecting more than 18,900 properties. Further disruption remains possible as the severe weather continues.
A dreadful night for communities caught in the storm.
And there's a wider lesson here. Keeping a few essentials at home, bottled water, tinned food, a torch, spare batteries and a wind up or battery-powered radio, isn't about preparing for the Russians to come marching down the street.
It's about recognising just how vulnerable we are to extreme weather, how poorly prepared our infrastructure can be, and how quickly the basics we take for granted can disappear.
Being prepared isn't paranoia. It's common sense when the infrastructure we depend on isn't as resilient as it should be.
